We ate here in 2021 when we stopped to spend the night in Hendersonville. Since we were doing the same thing this year, we had dinner at this El Paso location again. They do a brisk business and it is easy to see why. The food is quite good as is the service. Again I had the pork tamales, and my husband had the chicken ones. We were both pleased.
Good food at reasonable prices. Generous portions. My wife and I shared a meal and still had food left over
Remembering how much I loved this place the first time I was here years ago, I drove my family almost an hour (in part, because we got lost) for them to try it themselves. I wish it had been as I remembered—the most authentic food I’d eaten in the US. Unfortunately, however, El Paso is now more decent Americanized Mexican food with an overpriced menu. Pictured is the fajita plate after we fished the few pieces of meat out of a double order AND ate more peppers than we’d like just to fill our tortillas. This was a great place in the past, but we are leaving disappointed this time.
Great food, selections and great service! We are here (from Texas) on a vacation for a few weeks and we were a bit apprehensive of eating Mexican food in N. Carolina, but this place proved us otherwise!I had the fajita quesadilla special and my wife had the poblano chili rellenos and both were as authentic as food from Mexico. Plus this place has a “salsa bar” with a great variety of salsas of various flavors and spice levels to choose from.We are headed back again this Sunday for another taste of Mexico!
We ordered and picked up our meal to go. They had it ready quickly and it was hot. Your standard Mexican restaurant style food, fajitas had lots of veggies and everything was well seasoned. 4 stars because the chips were VERY stale. Other than that would recommend!
Buyer Beware. My 73 and 74 year old parents ate dinner here Friday evening, both got food poisoning and were bedridden all day Saturday. They had each ordered chicken enchiladas, rice & beans. They were each brought beef enchiladas, rice & beans. They didn’t want to complain or wait for the correct thing to be prepared, so they ate it.Obviously, poor customer service and poor product here.
Nice interior, good atmosphere, ample seating, easy parking. Large portions. The Big Dinner was humongous. Margaritas were OK, but not spectacular.
I have never had a meal here that wasn't perfect. The staff are always friendly and professional. Cocktails are on point. We've been going here for 5 years and it's still our favorite local Mexican restaurant.
Excellent restaurant. We went there after lunch hour around 1:54pm. Not many cars around and I wondered if I had made a mistake. Great atmosphere, friendly servers, GREAT Mexican food. I highly recommend El Paso #1.
Met a group of friends at the most authentic looking Mexican restaurant I have visited. The food was very good and the flan was the crowning touch of a great experience.
