Our food was good but our server got the order all mixed up . After we had ordered, she came back to the table and asked if we were ready to order !
I'd like to love Basil's, but I'm always disappointed with what I order when I go there. Had the chicken marsala recently and was first disappointed to see it was breaded and fried -maybe this is the way chicken marsala always is, but the menu didn't suggest it. The kitchen is over-reliant on black pepper to season the food, and that's the only flavor the vegetables carried. Meh, at best, for the food.1/2 price wine (Thursday's drink special) and patio weather were nice.

Waited for over an hour after ordering. Waitresses kept asking if we wanted to box up our appetizers. Finally told her we were still waiting for our food. Fifteen minutes later she said kitchen was backed up and our food was being prepared just then.
We've wanted to try Basil's since moving to Winterville in 2021. The service leaves MUCH to be desired, the pasta salad is not pasta salad at all; its macaroni salad.. You'd think an "Italian "restaurant would know the difference.. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, it was like eating a brick. As for service, it took the waiter 20 minutes to even acknowledge that we were in the restaurant and when he finally got to us, he apparently didn't listen to our needs. We ordered an appetizer (as a type 1 diabetic, it was kind of important); never received it. Our meal came out about 30 minutes after ordering. Moral of this story, go anywhere else but here..
I and my family ate here for dinner. There was not too much of a wait and the charming hostess Crystal was very kind and showed us to our table.I ordered a large house salad with grilled chicken. The salad was very big and had a generous portion of chicken.My table also got a supreme pizza. That pizza smelled delicious and tasted even better. Basil's is certainly one of the best places in Greenville for pizza.My family loves to come her on the weekends for pizza ans their drink specials.
First time visit here. The inside is cozy and warm, and we’ve heard good things about the food, Menu looks appetizing- but customer service is not good.When we were seated, we were not helped, seen or even acknowledge for over 20 minutes. The manager seemed very nice walking around checking every other table, even circling around twice to our neighbor table, but no acknowledgement or help to us. We decided that we’d take our business elsewhere at the 27 minute mark and as soon as we left she turned around to pick up our unused items. she And her staff knew we were there and chose to ignore us until we left. How rude!
I have been waiting and thinking about what kind of review to post on this Italian restaurant . Well , I think if you are in the greenville nc area and , you have a bit of a craving for some of the most delicious appetizers to start off your experience with , just come sit at the table of perfection . Oh my . Mushrooms ? are spot on . The beer batter dip will blow you away . I have been to many Italian restaurants and, I ask the wait staff , would you by any slight chance offer Parmigiano regieano cheese ? ? and ... wait for it ... get your heart right ... the answer is , ding ding ding winner winner ? chicken ? dinner . YES YES YES ...HOW MUCH FRESHLY GRATED SHAVED WOULD YOU LIKE ? my heart can't keep up at this point . The pasta dishes are ample not over the top huge but , very satisfying . If you are dining solo or , have the whole family ? , I think you would leave with Italian love in not only your belly but , your heart as well .
I've never had anything that wasn't delicious at Basil's. I went Thursday night and had a chicken and waffle sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was beyond amazing. I even dipped it in their ranch (which is excellent) and I highly recommend doing this. Such good food. They were very accommodating when I needed to move to a different area as well. I've eaten outside in the past too and that was also a fantastic experience. Great restaurant!
Friendly service and the food was fresh and delicious. We had cheese sticks with homemade superb marinara sauce. It was a whole cheese pizza, cut in strips, with the perfect blend of Italian spices!
