All I have to say is if you are a fan of good soul food, I’m talking grandma’s Sunday dinner after the family hit the lotto!! The amount of love in this food is unmatched. I could care less about the long wait or random opening times, just finding this gem makes me feel special. If you are in a bad mood, feeling depressed or just need a pick me upper hit up the Godmother I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. This is coming from a picky eater who’s been all around the world. I wish I could keep her forever
I have not yet had the food which is really sad because I have heard amazing things about it. I have attempted to go 4 times and each time after looking online and seeing that they are open we get to the door to learn that they are closed due to catering or 3 days prior to a holiday. I understand that this may be a small business but they should possibly consider adapting instagram or a website that is consistently updated so that customers can be updated of their true hours as they change. Hopefully I’ll get to try the food soon, I’ve heard people literally rave about.
Lord have mercy the food was delicious, the staff was very friendly. It's my wife and I new go to place when we are in Greensboro NC.
I could go on for days bout this food right here but I will not just I’ve tried just about everything on the menu except Pork items and it all buss The chicken is fried to perfection crunchy all around & so full of flavor, my yams sweet and perfect too & the mac mmmmmmm yeah its hittin too ? This is my favorite soul food spot in Greensboro hands down!!!!!!Oh forgot bout the Sweet Potato Cake ???? soo dang good ?
Five stars to the food. That is my definition of soul food. I would order again. The only downfall is there were only two workers and a back up of food orders. Also, make sure you bring a card. My brother and I waited it out and I’m happy that we did!
This restaurant has hours but everytime you call or go by they are apologizing for not being open. The last time I went a long time ago I waited nearly 2 hours for 1 plate of food so I decided to call in.Good food once you get but service needs help and this was way before a pandemic. Cant have good food and bad service and wait timem
The Food was very good and im the most pickiest person with my food you will ever know you cant fool me when it comes to food. Some of the best cooks and bakers where and some stiil is they are in my family everyone thinks there moma cooking is the best But thoses are the first meals you eat The Godmother of soul food got that favor.
Best soul food in Greensboro I've tried almost everything and I haven't been disappointed yet I'm from a big city and this place is hands down best food around town

We ate here for the first time after church yesterday and all I’m going to say is that I wish they were closer to Winston!!! Food was DELICIOUS!!! Friendly atmosphere but still professional! It was great to find soul food with that home cooked feel/taste!! We’ll be back!!
