We stopped in Greensboro North Carolina on the way back to ATL, and we were hoping to try some New York style pizza, as we are originally from NY. To our dismay the pizza place that has the name New York pizza was closed, and we decided to try Slices by Tony, which is right across the street; we were certainly not disappointed. His pizza is good enough to be called New York style pizza, even though he said he comes from Trenton NJ. This man knows how to make a pizza the right way. I'm so glad the other pizza joint that calls itself New York pizza was closed, so we were able to get some real authentic New York pizza slices at Slices by Tony. You want great customer service, and amazing pizza, don't look anywhere else in Greensboro NC, Tony is your guy. And not only was the pizza amazing, but Tony gave my family free garlic knots, and they too were delicious. We also ended up buying Zeppoles and donuts to go, which were also exceptional. Slices by Tony is our pizza spot every time we visit Greensboro NC for sure.
The gluten-free crust was incredible. It has great flavor, and stays together well. Also, Tony really knows how to make and cook a pizza to perfection—not too burnt, not too soft. Just perfect. I would take his GF pizza crust over any glutenous crust out there.Also, key fact, he used MOZERRELA cheese. Not some gross combination of other cheeses you'd get other place who have no idea about taste. Pizza, especially NY-style, has the cheese there to add a little something to the flavor/texture---not to over-power all the other toppings and flavors, thus bastardizing it with gross cheeses. Tony seems to get this.If you want a 4-cheese pizza: awesome. Go to the frozen foods section at Food Lion. If you want a high-quality, freshly-made pizza, that uses quality ingredients, then go to Slices Pizza by Tony.
Best restaurant in Greensboro in my opinion and I've lived here 20 years. Love it!

Absolutely some of the best pizza in Greensboro. I love that Tony and staff have a classic taste with some more modern pizzas too. I frequently go to slices whenever I'm stumped on what to have for dinner or have a craving for high quality, affordable pizza.
Slices by Tony is hands down our go to spot. It’s always a positive experiences every time we visit, and the food is absolutely amazing! Tony and his crew do a fantastic job. This is a great place for lunch, dinner or a quick bite to eat. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Some of the best tasting pepperoni pizza I've had in a long time! It was so good I went back the next day. Great price and pretty big size of the slices.
First thing you notice is the smell. This place smells like a pizzeria should! Brought me right back home to NY!Their slices are great! They have all the typical fare ( calzones, Subs, Stromboli, etc...). Really a can't miss joint, if your anywhere near Tate St.
I've absolutely loved slices ever since moving to Greensboro! Super friendly staff and some of the best pizza I've ever had. Sticks to that classic style with some modern pizzas as well. Can't be beat!
My car got held up in the shop, and I wasn't able to pick up my order on time. They saved it for me on top of the pizza oven. In spite of my delay, the order was still amazing and delicious and well cooked and not dry or overcooked in the slightest. I really appreciate the quality of their dough and ingredients.
