My son and I stumbled upon this place. Wow. Great food. If you go so yourself a favor and get the stake and shrimp entree.... it's like $15 and was insanely good. The service to he honest was kind of weird. The server was great. The bus boy man was strange. The guy cleaning the tables wasn't wearing the blue shirt other workers were wearing and nice pants so at first I was wondering what he was doing. He had a bus bucket and was cleaning tables and just dumping the drinks into this bus tub and it was disgusting and sloshing around. That was my only turn off, but he was a nice guy. The people next to him that were just seated asked to be moved closer to a door. I think it was because the bus boy guy was super loud just chucking dishes into the tubs. It was weird but I'm still giving five stars because I'm truly thinking it was an anomaly and we loved the salsa they give with the chips. Great place. Give it a shot if you like Mexican you won't be disappointed.
I love Monterrey’s. From their charlotte location, when I found out they had a location here in Greensboro…I had to take my hubby there and the service was fast and efficient. Our waitress was so kind and helpful, she was amazing during our lunch date. We order a chicken quesadilla and side of rice with cheese on top. The quesadilla was toasted buttery good and the cheese melted so nicely. My compliments to the chef and their sweet tea was on point. If you want something tasty for lunch or dinner, hit up Monterrey! Price is ? decent and your paying for what you want in portion.

Alex was awesome (they employee mountains btw.. was afraid at first but he smiled most of the time so we figured he wasn't going to hurt us) and took very good care of us. The food was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend and we'll be back!
Online, google business says they close at 9:30pm on Sundays. I arrived on a Sunday at 8:45pm and i was turned away by the manager because he said they are closed…. As i was leaving the manager saw that there is a Caucasian couple that just arrived and he let them in and gave them a table.
Servers are very kind and the dish was very delicious! Vegetable is very fresh. I added sour cream to tacos and I loved it. They serve taco chips for free as an appetizer.
The food here was incredible!!! My family and I was looking for a Mexican food spot and stumbled across this place. Its located in an old shopping center but don't sleep on it. It had a steady flow of people coming in and out. The customer service was awesome. The food was fresh and came out quickly after we ordered it. Will be back soon!!!?
First time trying this place and it exceeded all my expectations. My server, Alex, was beyond nice and his service was incredibly fast. His knowledge of everything on the menu was great for answering questions. Definitely will be going again and will be asking for Alex.
Extremely clean , fantastic food and great service ! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I an VERY selective. Best in Greensboro so far!
Monterrey’s isn’t bad but it isn’t great. It is the closest Mexican food restaurant to me, so I have eaten here a few times, but both times were only “ok” experiences. Most recently I got chips that were very stale and old tasting. The burrito plates also only come with rice OR beans, not both. Which is strange considering most Mexican restaurants give both. The portions are not very much for the price. I would say they definitely charge too much for what you get.
