I can't tell you how good this pasta dish is with enough accolades. Our waiter was excellent and suggested this dish. AMAZINGLY GOOD. I make a special trip for this, but I'm 2 and a half hours away. I'm a hard to please New Yorker and this place shocked me with the service and food. I went about 2:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, June second.
Love the portobello sandwich!! Get the sweet potato fries!! Delicious mustard dipping sauce!!
Great food, very nice and prompt service, upbeat environment. Definitely choose the bar. It’s fun.
Another great experience here! Food, service and hospitality! Quick drop in today for lunch, tried something out the usual (basic) it was delicious !!
On 4/13 my husband and I were new in town and looking for a casual place for lunch but with good food/beer and something with nice atmosphere where were could relax. We came upon Harper’s when I googled for places nearby. We liked the place as soon as we walked in, however the receptionist was really stiff when she told us it’d be at least a 20 min wait. Although there appeared to be several open booths, we understand that staffing impacts filling those, or not. We could see the bar area had a few open seats and some high tops and asked if we could get lunch at the bar. We were told we could if we wanted, but the tone seemed to register her disapproval. It was after 1pm. We were hungry and would have tried another place nearby rather than wait. That cost the 5th star. Carly, the bartender greeted us like she knew we’d soon be great friends while admitting she thought we were new. Guess it shows! We talked about the beer on tap and then we both easily selected the same one, the HIghland Gaelic, and immensely each enjoyed 2 of them. Carly was also super helpful in helping us decide on lunch orders. I had the grilled Chef Salad and hubs had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were perfectly delectable. Carly also engaged us periodically with banter and answers to Qs we had. As an aside, the barstools, are some of the most comfortable I’ve sat in and I don’t think the booth could have been so much fun. So in the end, perhaps I should have more seriously reconsidered the 5th star, as we had a good beer, a wonderful meal and a truly engaged server!
I had the fresh catch, which happened to be tuna. I got it with the teriyaki glaze and a side of wilted spinach. The meal was wonderful. I would definitely eat it again. I also had a sangria that just wasn't good. I'd skip that and the apple pie dessert as well. Gabby took really good care of us. I'd eat here again.
Our server was exceptional. He was kind and patient with us. My food, however, was not the best, hence the rating. The batter they use for the fish was greasy and soggy. Inside of it was a small piece of cod. My sides were great but the fish was disappointing.
This restaurant has a variety of excellent salads, sandwiches, and entrees at lunch and dinner. Their chicken sandwiches are creatively prepared and on the side, their pesto pasta salad is a cut above. Enjoy a casual Sunday brunch.
Very clean and laid back atmosphere. We wanted to try something new, so this was it....I walked into a nearly empty restaurant and requested seating for 8. The hostess mumbled something and was very clear when saying it would be a 30-minute wait. I asked her to repeat all she had said prior, but she just repeated that there would be a 30-minute wait.Once seated, our waitress, Brittany, was very attentive as our party had several children. There was nothing to be excited as the food was just basic, BUT it was served fresh and hot, which I totally appreciate.
So glad there was a 90 minute wait at the cheesecake factory next door, or we never would have found Harper's! The staff were so friendly, our food was all delicious, quick to come out, and better than we would have had next door ( and maybe 1/3 the price). Thank you so much Harper's for the great food and experience. Definitely recommend!
