This was an outstanding restaurant. Great beer selection, and the food was so good. The best part was the service. We must have had 10 people check on us. Keep up the great work.
Great atmosphere. I had ahi tuna tacos and they were fine. Salsa delicious! The service was fine but female bartender/waitress wasn't friendly and seemed a little put out. Just went through the motions. The chef came out and asked how we were. He was friendlier.
I love the twisted chicken. In past visits I've always thought the service could be better or maybe they just needed more servers... the last time was much improved! I love the twisted chicken tacos and the twisted chicken salad and the seared tuna appetizer. We also ordered the cod fish and chips but we weren't a big fan of that particular dish.
I’m so confused by this experience. We had a great server. He was awesome but in-between him serving, six different female servers came to our table every 90 seconds and interrupted our conversation for nothing, it was frustrating AF. We all ordered something different and we all thought our meals were fairly good. I enjoyed my tuna salad bowl- a great mix of vegetables except for the very brown lettuce at the bottom of the bowl. There was some weirdness going on there, the coffee cups were filthy, stained like no one ever heard of bleach water, ever. One of us had a sprite and it came out pale brown and was told this is normal. No offer to replace it.It was all a bit sticky and grungy in there. The seating is horrible. It might be better outside but it was too hot on that occasion, inside it’s really ugly and uncomfortable. It got really busy and the bar was packed. I wouldn’t make a special trip to go back. At least not until they 86 the swamp water.
I went here on 6/6/22 the service was good. Nice staff. The food was not impressive to me. I ordered the catfish sandwich. The remoulade sauce overpowered the fish. I decided to taste the fish on its on and I see why. The fish wasn't seasoned at all! The remoulade sauce is too much and catfish is meaty. This catfish was thin and it's just doesn't go with the sauce. I also ordered the blueberry lemon drop. I wasn't a fan of that either I didn't taste anything blueberry. If I visit again I won't order the fish.
So we sat at the bar! And had 4 beers before we ordered. Thinking if we are spent $30 on beer that the service would be better;we were mistaken. Half the sandwich was good. On the other side/half, I received a fingernail size of fish on the sandwich. See pic. $16 for a sandwich that’s far from satisfactory.
Good food, but don't park in there lot and go across the street. They can afford stickers so they probably don't pay there staff well. You have my plate number and i have your number. Not sorry for visiting your place in the past but you have seen my last dollar.
Good wine, cute atmosphere. Food was pretty good. Wings weren't crispy, as waitress explained as were deciding our order. I'll be back for the cool vibe and wine!
I was pretty disappointed in my most recent experience here. I ordered the fish and chips and everything on the plate could be summed up in one word – bland. The fish, coleslaw and corn were all severely under-seasoned. The only thing that was properly salted were the chips. Because cod is so mild in flavour, it can really hold up to strong seasonings. I even tasted the breading on its own and it was equally as bland. Also, the wait staff designations are strange. The guy who took our drink order never came back to take our food order and I had to flag down another waitress after waiting for him to return for almost 20 minutes. When she got to our table, she said the wait staff “shares tables.” After we received our food, she was not as attentive as we feel she should have been. She never checked on us to ask how the food was or to see if we needed anything. I was constantly having to flag her down for things – extra napkins, a drink refill, the check. There was also an obnoxiously loud and sloppily drunk group of people in the corner who made having a conversation with my grandma nearly impossible, despite the fact that we were literally two feet apart. I understand this Fishbones is a bar, but frankly it was unacceptable. I saw them continuously being served alcohol when they were clearly past their limit. Isn’t there some kind of law that says restaurants can cease serving alcohol to people when they reach their limit? Public intoxication is not attractive. I was embarrassed for them, but I hope they got home OK…Honestly, I don’t feel very inclined to go back here anytime soon.
Fish Bones is really great. We were visiting from Raleigh and tried it at behest of a local friend. The staff was great, the food was great, the beer was great. I ordered a salad with fried oysters on it and was not disappointed. The oysters were cooked perfectly and they weren't stingy with them. We also ordered crab dip which was STELLAR. Seriously, I wanted to eat it with a spoon.
