I have tried for weeks now to come to the Durham location. It’s always at least a 90 minute wait. I have a gift card that was given to me and can’t use. The online website won’t accept gift card and can’t even scan the gift card to see amount on it as the website for it doesn’t work. Calling in an order doesn’t work and employees say to use door dash but door dash doesn’t deliver from you. Totally ridiculous that employees don’t know procedures, can’t order online with a gift card, can’t make reservations and when arriving to try to use take out, it’s least 60 minute wait. This is poor management for a local business!

We met there as a small group (9) in the area for an event at the coliseum. My daughter and I were the first to arrive and were told by the hostess per their policy we couldn’t be seated until our entire party arrived. If the restaurant was busy, I understand the policy. I’ve posted pictures of the mostly empty restaurant. I then tried to sit at an empty table by the door and was told by the hostess we had to wait outside.It was hot and we waited on metal benches on the sidewalk for 20+ minutes for the rest of our party to arrive. 8 out of 9 were there within 5 minutes but per policy the hostess would not seat us until all arrived.Keep in mind not a single customer went into the restaurant while we were waiting on the hot sidewalk.We went inside when our entire party arrived and were seated at different tables. Not sure what the point of waiting for our entire party to arrive to be seated if we were going to be seated at different tables anyway.The good: the food was good. Chicken was crispy and moist. Waffles with peach-apricot schmear and ask yo’ mamma drizzle were fluffy and delicious. The sweet and spicy combo was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and did her best to provide good service.Heed other reviews and take my recommendation- order takeout.

My experience here was terrible! We went as a group of five. Let me start by saying the food is terrible, I don’t know why they have so many reviews complimenting the food. Shrimp and grits was greasing and the salt was overbearing. Friends of mine had chicken and waffle, the chicken was burnt. Food taste as though they don’t change the cooking oil. My husband ate the chicken cutlet with waffle, it wasn’t terrible but not great either. Four of us returned of food and ordered the cutlet w/waffle. I did not finish my food because it was not good enough. Waffle was doughy and chicken was eh. The manager NEVER came to the table to apologize for what happen. We asked the waitress to speak with the manager and she mentioned “it’s like pulling teeth to get them out here to do something”. At the end, all they did was give a very small discount off our bill. Still never saw the manager. The service was mediocre. We kept having to wave the waitress down for napkins, silverware. She never came back to refill our water. To top it all they gave us plastic silverware. How do you eat chicken breast and a waffle with cheap plastic ware??? The waitress said they have a shortage, even though the table behind us had real silverware. I will never ever ever ever come back to this place. This is the first and absolute last time.Update: I want to update this review that three of us got sick from this food later that day. Please don’t eat here! Save your stomach and your money!

I travel from Ballantyne just to come here. Food is always good. I always get the Fried chicken wings , with a classic waffle and collard greens . Always crowded on the weekends, about a 30 min wait, but good atmosphere, and staff.

Today we went as a party of 4 for lunch. We ordered a Mimosa bucket… we ordered the alcohol that we wanted. We were given something totally different and were told that’s all was available well we did not like it nor did we drink it. We asked is there anything that can be done they said no we would still have to pay for the alcohol… okay cool if that’s the policy we understand and we were fine with having to still pay for the alcohol…. Our tab was like 123.00 we paid it or whatever BUT we asked can we speak to the manager and the manager told the waitress there was no reason for them(HER) to come and speak with us… good customer service keeps people coming back to your business. It’s more cost effective to have returning customers… Our waitress was cool and she did the best she could with what she had to work with but the manager not feeling it was important to speak with us definitely cut the tip. Poor customer service definitely hurts a business.

HORRIBLE!!! When we walked in a big unfriendly black guy was sitting down “playing” on his phone. I assumed he was the owner or manager. He kept his head down the entire time to keep from greeting us…the hostess was seating guest. When she came back to the hostess stand he immediately got off his phone and looked my partner up and down. After adding our names on the list the same guy that couldn’t greet us told us we couldn’t wait in the lobby. I respect that but I question why were they’re two other people standing in the lobby waiting. He said one guy was waiting on a pick up order and the other guy (which was a friend of his based on the conversation they were having in our presence) was waiting to be seated. Point blank period both parties were waiting. Be consistent if this is truly your policy and know how to greet your customers.

Went there on April 19. 2022 about 2pm. It's was to busy. The girl tells me to wait 10 mins. Than she will come out to get me. I did. Other groups coming in and getting a seat. I go left out. I order thru take out. Seats down in the restaurant was impossible for me to do. I had to eat in my car.
