I love barbecue..... this was shockingly delicious! Staff is so helpful, friendly, polite, & knowledgeable. Clean environment, tons of sitting space, couple beers on tap (but more of a family spot). Walk up, order, pay, sit, wait until your name is called. Pulled pork was on point and so flavorful WITHOUT SAUCE! but they have lots of sauce options and will add a vinegar base if you want. They take pride in preparing their meat. Sides are even delicious! Moderately priced, worth every penny! GOOOOO!!!! Now. Seriously.
We’ve had City BBQ several times, but most recently, my husband ordered the party pack (that can feed 4-6 people), and can i just say how impressed I am?? First off, the food was still hot when he got home ( we live almost 20 mins away), and it was so delicious! We have a 7 member household and there was enough food left over to feed at least two more adults. The banana pudding was amazing, and the people were really kind and nice. Upon arrival, Hubby didn’t even wait five minutes before they brought our food out. Will definitely be back!
I NEVER eat turkey, even on Thanksgiving, but the turkey tacos here are fantastic. The chipotle lime sauce is divine. Next time I'll get two instead of just one. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the ribs & brisket, & our daughter liked the chicken tenders. We all loved the fries & hushpuppies. Everything was clean & the employees were friendly. Didn't have to wait long at all.
I was working in a company, living fine something came up that made all staffs lost their jobs.
Good service, good prices, good portions, good food! The only complaint I have is that the silverware and the red plates by the drink machine were all dirty (bits of crusted-on food). They have disposable plates and silverware because I asked for them, but I recommend offering that instead of the real thing if it can’t be cleaned properly.
The Mac N Cheese is the best damn thing. Actually all of the sides here are pretty dope. I had the sausage and didn’t particularly love it because I’m raised on KC style. However, I can tell based on the amount of folks walking in that this is def a NC favorite.
Visiting from Bmore...DRIVE THRU BBQ??!!!Everything was amazing. I got the pick 2 meat. Brisket was tender, smoky, and even had some burnt ends. Ribs were delicious. Cole slaw was good and the collard greens were just right. Tasted like an aunts or grandma's collards. I can not complain. NC is known for pulled pork im assuming because I couldn't find brisket anywhere but happy I found it here.
If I could give this restaurant a 10 out 10 I would. This place is amazing. The staff that was here tonight (3/23/22) was all around fantastic. They made the environment awesome. They make you feel so welcoming. These people deserve raises. We came in not really knowing what to get how to order, they went above and beyond to make our experience here wonderful. We will be returning and we will highly recommend everyone we know to try it
This was an amazing restaurant. The food was absolutely great. They give you large portion sizes. The workers were kind and friendly and the son of the owner came over and asked us how a food was and how was our visit. I will definitely be back. The restaurant does have a slight bit of a smoke smell because of the wood they are burning for the barbecue mosquito flavor just a heads up for people who may be bothered.
The family and I enjoyed our meal and the courtesy of the employee's. The collard greens were amazing just needed to be chopped up some more, the macaroni was beyond delicious and the 1st batch of sweet tea was off the ripppps.. most definitely will be returning....
