Great seafood dishes and portions. I ordered the blacken grouper sandwich and a bowl of clam chowder. My son ordered the perch with shrimp platter. If you like seafood here’s your place
My wife and I went for a late lunch. Capt Bill's has been in business for over 40 yrs! Fresh seafood is their speciality. My wife had flounder and shrimp and I had flounder and scallops. Our sides included cole slaw, fries, okra and of course hush puppies. Everything was fresh and delicious! Made us feel like we were eating at the beach! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Fish on Fridays! Love this fresh hot fried seafood restaurant. I don’t eat fried food often but I love seafood so when I found this place I was in heaven. Fish, scallops, shrimp, oysters hush puppies the coleslaw all served hot and fresh and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The staff is also great. They shut down Libby Hills,Tides Inn is ok and Captain D’s forget about it. Captain Bill’s is the Seafoods place for Great seafood hands down.
Today we ate for the first time at Captain Bill's. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am. A friendly gentleman welcomed us, took our order, and brought us our drinks and meals. A sign at the entrance stated that due to rising food costs, there was an extra charge of $1 per platter and $2. extra for oysters. The prices of the daily lunch specials were marked out on the menu. The prices for most of the daily specials had been $9.35 previously. I asked the gentleman what the price was for the lunch popcorn shrimp special and he said $12.99. We both ordered the popcorn shrimp lunch special. It came with a small plastic cup of slaw, french fries, hush puppies, and popcorn shrimp. The hush puppies are O shaped, and were fresh and tasty. The crinkle cut fries were slightly undercooked. The slaw was good. The popcorn shrimp was good. After moving everything else off the small oval platter, the popcorn shrimp covered the whole plate. For about $9. a plate, this would have been a good deal. For $12.99, this was not a good deal. They also charged $3.25 for my husband's soda. Their restaurant inspection rating was 97, which is very good. We will not go back.
These people are super friendly, always give you a free tea while you wait! They make you feel like you are welcomed and always appreciative! The food is good, sometimes they may throw a few old pieces with fresh pieces. Prices went up, but that's everywhere you go nowadays. Overall it's a nice place to dine.
Don't let the looks of this place fool ya!!! Even though the decor looks like something outta the 70s, the food is really good!!!. The waitress is very personable as well. We came in hungry and left "full as a tick"
The visit was a treat! Some of the best prepared seafood I have tasted in a long time at a very good price range and with excellent, attentive service. This place is a gem! Please do not change anything you are doing...
Delicious fried seafood! Had the fried flounder & popcorn shrimp, along with pickled beats and turnip greens, hush puppies. Was good! Friendly staff!
Wonderful! Great food and staff. Light and crispy fried seafood. Apple pie a la mode (with Ben and Jerry's ice cream) is a delicious suprise. Very casual and rustic, so no worries about being comfortable as well.
A great seafood restaurant if you are wanting the Calabash experience. The servings are huge and are a challenge to finish. Very clean restaurant without the typical fried seafood smell and greasy table tops.
