My husband and I were playing pool next door and decide to order a roll from here. We love sushi and eat at US Sushi often. I ordered the Carolina roll to go and decided to eat at the pool hall next door. The one person I saw on staff was friendly and greeted me promptly (hence the 2 stars) but unfortunately the roll was awful. I have honestly had better sushi from Harris Teeter for less than half the price. Full disclosure, this was my only time ordering from this establishment and it could have been a poor choice of sushi roll but based on the experience I had with this roll, I am unlikely to return.
Great place for sushi. Their speciality rolls are varied and there are plenty to choose from. Their sashimi was the best I’ve had. Look for their combos for an even better price!
This place was so good. They have authentic ramen, really good ginger dressing, and a flight of different sake so we could enjoy what we know we love and try something new. It was a little pricier but definitely worth it for the quality you get. Service was absolutely amazing.
Restaurant is short staffed and they had made it known at the front on a sign, so we were understandable with the wait. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best. The volcano roll was pretty much drenched in eel sauce which made it very salty and heavy to me. The hibachi was a little bland but everything else about it, especially the steak, was good. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. Now even though I understood that they were short staffed and we would have to wait a little bit longer for certain things, I didn’t really like how the used plates on our table we’re still stacked there even when our waitress made rounds at our table and we would have to ask for basic things before having to eat. Also our check was brought to us even though an order that I had made had never arrived to our table nor was it even included in the bill, so that meant it was forgotten, because our waitress had even repeated my order. Overall, it’s not that bad, but this would be a place I would come to every blue moon and if I was invited by someone.
The quality of the food didn't match the price tag. I would recommend this restaurant for their sushi, but not for their entrees. The sanitation rating was also sort of a red flag--as of mid April 2022 it was a 90.0. I've seen some pretty gross kitchens with higher ratings, so that wasn't a great impression. Workers are incredible though--our server was so kind and attentive.
This place has potential. It has great, open space and very friendly staff. The food... well, it was okay, nothing really to complain about. It just was not great. With entrees starting in the mid teens (~$15), for this area, it should be great. It seemed sort-of bland. I may try it again. Hopefully, my family and I just caught them on and off-day. Perhaps they had to switch to a backup supply of herbs.
I stopped in for a quick bite on my way home. The Black Pearl sushi roll and onion soup were so good I had to try one more roll before leaving! The Playboy roll and Thai Tea were also delicious and worth making room for. Service was A+ and dining room was very quiet at 5pm on a Monday. Love this place!!!
Went here on a whim because an neighboring restaurant was closed.Black Ginger doesn’t disappoint. Golden Monster roll was delicious. Ramen bowl very filling. Whenever we are in Greensboro we will visit again
The white sauce had a sweaty odor to it, couldn’t even eat the hibachi. I remembered they had quality hibachi, is the only reason I didn’t give a 1 star.
Always looking for new and good places to eat, we pulled up local sushi places and this one showed up. Very nice and clean, friendly atmosphere and employees. Had a hard time picking just three roll as each desription sounded so good. We settled on five rolls overall which was delivered on a large boat. Each roll was delicious. We are definitely coming back.
