Speaking as an Asian, this was the first time I visited an Asian restaurant in the Greensboro area and got served family style. Most Asian restaurants here cater too much to the American palate—too sweet, too oily, too bland, yet in a serving size that’s absolutely excessive. Never had anything in the vicinity taste as hearty, rich, and complex before. We ordered takeout several days later and the quality was exactly the same. What a gem. Trying hard to hold back the urge to eat here every day if the week.
[ordered the Agni Tandoori Dinner Platter, medium spiciness, which comes with rice] My only complaints were how dry the chicken was, & there being a lot of bone bits in the lamb tikka. Overall, it was a solid value with just the right amount of food for 2 people. The naan was soft-light yet crispy around the edges, the lamb tikka was better tasting than the chicken tikka, & the mango lassi drink was delicious!
One of the worst restaurant experiences I ever had. I could not eat my entree...it was inedible. Extreme heat. The chicken was dry and rubbery, in addition to so much heat/spice I couldn't taste anything for a week (not really, but it was awful, awful, awful). Seriously, if I had eaten that hell-sent plate of food, I would have died in the restaurant. This horrific entree on the heels of the most bland, tasteless pakoras in the history of bad Indian food. The staff were amused and laughing because their food was causing me pain and making me sick.
I just ate here for the first time for my birthday a few weeks ago, and I was so pleased! Delicious food and really great service. I am craving it so much, I'm planning my return trip as I type this. The menu has a great selection, and I can't wait to try more things. I ordered too much food (I wanted to taste everything!), but luckily, the leftovers were just as amazing the next day. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants!
Yup. All those 5 star reviews were spot-on! Everything was the perfect blend of everything.I ordered a masala lassi to drink (salty yogurt with spices and mint). It was incredible. It was like a meal all by itself. Very salty and savory and unlike anything I've ever had. The Agni Chicken Curry (medium spicy) is to DIE for. Sweet, and savory and spicy all at once. All those flavors deliciously and precariously perched on a knife's edge. I couldn't imagine it being any better.Damn. I wish I lived closer than 7 hours away! I also got the mixed grill appetizer plate. It was pretty good, but everything else outshone it by far. If I had ONLY had the mixed grill, I would have enjoyed it, but I wouldn't be raving like a lunatic like I'm doing now!You can't go wrong here!
Love Agni! Best Indian food in GSO. Curries and butter chicken are top notch. And great samosas! Super flavorful and authentically made. The people who run the place are super nice and helpful. The first time we ever came here it was a slow night and the sweet lady came out from the kitchen after our food came out to see how we liked her cooking and to say hi. There was a language barrier but I so enjoyed her coming out and meeting us. Great place!
The food at this place was amazing! Everything was delicious, well prepared, clean and tasty! We had a great time and the person who served our table was very kind.
Where are you at Greensboro?!?! This is some of the best Indian food I’ve had stateside. If you think you don’t like Indian food, then you haven’t been here. You need to come give this place a try and treat yourself to wonderful food.Staff is very friendly, atmosphere is much nicer in the inside than the outside. Come see for yourself ❤️❤️❤️
Very good Indian/Nepali food. We stopped while driving back home from mountains. Tandoori chicken was very tender, sizzling and tasty. Bharta was good. Kids menu had good options and portions were decent. Plenty of parking outside. Right next to highway so getting there and out was quick. Very courteous and attentive staff.
The building may look old but don’t let that fool you. The staff are super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.
