Asian Fusion Sushi Bar Burgers

Wow. Hire some people. Train them. Enough is enough. Tired of the bad service. I can go elsewhere. Teach your people on the various courses and to get the drinks from the bar first.

First time i came the service was amazing.. went on a date with my boyfriend tonight and never got either soup we ordered and my boyfriends sushi didn't arrive till after we got our check. I had to hunt down another waitress to get a refill for my drink and when the waiter (Cody u.) Brought my refill i wasn't offered a to go cup.. We were not offered a reason for the sushi bring late but the table that was sat before we left was told there was only 2 sushi chefs.. All other staff we encountered tonight were amazing.. i honestly felt we were being rushed out.

If you want authentic Korean food, go to Narita Express. On new hope/Berkeley Jays is an overpriced joke. They should have just stayed with the small Sushi and Burger bar on John street. Food was amazing back then. Now that they have expanded, quality is terrible, inconsistent, prices went up, rude staff, long waits, bugs, stealing tips from wait staff. Wayne county is a small community and news spreads fast.

My oldest daughter wanted to eat here after her 8th grade graduation, so we stopped in about 8:30 on Wednesday June 1, 2022. It was not busy, and just a few customers, we were told we would have to wait while they put a table together for us, there were 6 in our party. They asked us to take a seat, and literally as we were about to sit on there benches they come over and say that we can follow them. Soon after sitting at our table the waitress comes over to asked what we would like to drink and if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered drinks and some appetizers, and after about 5 min she came back to see if we had made our mind up for dinner. We ordered our meals and that is when the wait started. Now there were about 15-20 customers in the restaurant at the time, and it took over 15 minutes to get our appetizers to the table, which seemed a little long for fried pot stickers and some edamame. The waiting continued as after about 20 min from ordering our main meals my 8 year olds pizza showed up and the waitress said they are finishing the rest of our food. after about 10 more min our food finally came out. Now I ordered the Fire Pork bowl, and everyone else ordered Sushi Rolls. I can understand that it takes time to make Sushi, but not almost 45 min from when we ordered. The Fire Pork rice bowl was mostly hard chunks of fat that you couldn't chew, and there was no flavor what so ever to the dish, and it was barley room temperature when i received it. Jays has gone so far down hill from when it first opened that I am honestly surprised they are still in business. The dishes are severely over priced for what you receive and there is no flavor or anything to the dishes, they all taste like they are microwaved in the back from a freezer. You are honestly better off to stay at home and cook, then to eat at Jays. Our waitress did an outstanding job, and this no way reflects on her because she is at the mercy of the kitchen, and kitchen staff. She checked on us thru the evening, and kept us updated on the time for our food.

Good place to eat. A bit pricey when ordering multiple order different varieties of sushi and when 10 people order on 1 ticket. Can't really complain as it was a celebration of a University graduation!!!

I made 10-15 calls from the time I first called until I called to give the final count for our group. EVERY time that I called I got a different answer about the requirements and rules for group reservations. When I asked for something in writing so that every one is on the same page, I was told that there wasn't one. This is very bad business because it tells me that they make the rules up as they go....depending on who you talk to. This leaves a lot of room to make one question if there are different rules for different groups of people. They are kind of pricey. However, the service was good considering we had 45 to 50 people. The food was very good.

As a person who has been to many Asian restaurants, specifically Korean I was excited to come here but overall was really disappointed .In any Korean restaurant you get an array of side dishes included with your meal and size of party. But paying $6 for a side order of kimchi is crazy on its own and for one steam pork belly bun is $5.All I can say is that this place is getting a lot of money off of their customers. Their food looks appealing but was really bland. The rice wasn’t seasoned well, the sauce on the spicy chicken tasted cheap, and their beef soup was watered down and tasted like a ramen packet. Unfortunately I ended up getting food poisoning and was pretty sick throughout the night after eating here. I’m not sure if it was an off day but can’t trust the reviews anymore :/

Dinner tonight was absolutely delicious. We may have found another go to place for sushi! The 3 rolls my husband and I shared were so good. The rolls were large and had ample fish and other ingredients. Food came out fast and the wait staff was friendly. Can't wait to go back!

My family and I have visited a couple different times. Each time the service has been great. The food was also very good. Sushi was great, lunch meals were more than enough food. My wife loves their salad and ranch dressing. Prices are on par with other restaurants in the area. We will return soon.

The experience tonight was weird. Normally Jay's is awesome. The food was certainly awesome. But the service was way off tonight. Our server, Joseph, was inappropriate on several levels. The service began with him apologizing for an order that was messed up and taking too much of his time to straighten out. Could we please wait for a while as he sorted it. No problem. I did not need to know the details, but he did tell us he was new, so I gave him a pass. Then he began hovering at a table close by with two women patrons. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of personal space. Every time he would walk behind the lady sitting away from the wall, some part of his body would brush her hair. There was plenty of room between her seat and the next table. No need to pass so closely. He would return to check us every so often and then return to hovering at their table. He began sitting on his knees beside their table and just camping out there. At one point, he asked one of the ladies for her phone number. She responded, "Excuse me, do you see this?" She held up her left hand. He replied, "See what?" And she said, "This is my wedding ring. I am married and you are being inappropriate." It did not discourage him though, he put almost all of his focus on them at that point and sat on his knees by their table almost constantly after that. Another server brought out my dinner. After a while, he did come over to apologize that my daughters dinner was not ready yet and started complaining about the kitchen. This began a pattern. He did deliver her meal after I had already finished mine, and continued to complain about the kitchen, not only for our service, but also for the service of other patrons. When he would walk behind my daughter, he was now touching her hair too. If he would have dropped down to his knees at our table, I would have called him out on it, as it puts him at a level to look under any skirts at a table. As the service went on, I realized the guy is a creep. When he served my daughters meal, he was not looking at our table, or even looking in our direction. He was looking at the table with the other two ladies. My daughter had to grab her drink with one hand and steady the plate with her other, as he almost put both into her lap. A little while later he came by and asked, "You want the check?" I just stared at him, and he said, "It's not the right time to ask, is it?" I responded, "No, it is not. She is still eating."I could keep going, but I would just be repeating the same behaviors already described. I am used to a much higher standard of service at Jay's and am very disappointed in what I saw tonight. I will probably come back eventually, but it will not be soon. Get a handle on the front of your house and instill some professionalism.
