Lotus gets 4 stars from me. I have been meaning to try this place for a while and I was pleasantly surprised with the upscale food and sushi bar inside a strip mall place. I ordered a coconut mojito, California roll, and the swordfish weekly special. The drink was just ok and I probably wouldn’t order it again. It left something to be desired- maybe more coconut rum or maybe less mint. The sushi is made to order by the sushi chef. It’s not the best I’ve had but it was good (I mean, this is Gastonia). Everyone raves about Jia but the sushi here is better in my opinion. I was wondering why the dinners were priced at upscale prices until my dinner arrived. Props to the chef who knows his or her stuff! The food was delivered hot, plated wonderfully and it was delicious. The risotto was awesome and cooked perfectly as the swordfish was grilled but not overly smokey and not dry at all. I will definitely be back to try more of their unique variety of dishes!

Making progress with the sushi options in NC. I am from out of state, a sushi lover and it has been so hard to find a good place. Lotus is next to Publix so after a loooong day from work I decided to go grocery shopping and treat my mom and myself to a Sapporo and some sushi and we landed at Lotus Bar & Eatery. Let’s break down the stars: customer service: 5 star! we felt very welcome, they young gentleman greeted us with a beautiful and genuine smile, we appreciated that. From that point on, I knew it was going to be pleasant. Our server was very friendly and when I asked for suggestions she nailed it. The best part was when Adam, the owner, came to our table after we were done and asked us how was our meal (8 stars for that attention to us). Appreciate it. Ambiance- 5 star! is a nice place to go with your family or enjoy a drink or two at the bar. Place is clean, lots of space, maybe more lighting to show the second floor so people know there is an option for large gathering in a private area. It was not loud so that’s a plus. Food: I give 4 stars because I need to try some sushi rolls that are more elaborate. I have wasted so much money in other places so I tried I think 6 different rolls and they were very good. The rice was good, the rolls were tasty, fresh and pieces had the perfect size. The menu has so many options! Wait time was very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

Once a favorite of ours, this place has gone downhill under new ownership. There’s less attention to the food and definitely to the wine and beer selection. I hate to have lost one of the few restaurants that kept us from driving to Charlotte.

The saucy supreme was awesome. Not a fan of the chernobyl chicken. The flat bread pizza I hear is bad but we'll see.

My first time here. Very good food and nice atmosphere. My server was prompt and came frequently to refresh our water glasses and attend to our needs.

We love this place! We have never had to wait for a table, service is good and the food is delicious.

Having enjoyed the fine cuisine at Lotus for several years, it easily became the go to restaurant for my wife and I on "date night". From the special strawberry risotto on Valentine's Day, to the perfectly cooked prime steaks, to the extensive beverage selection, and finally the delectable desserts. This is why I was so very disappointed with our experience last night. We were met at the door and told payment was cash only due to internet issues. I went to the ATM at Publix and withdrew the required cash only to watch a customer paying with a card upon my return. The salt and pepper shrimp, although still good, has suffered in both texture and presentation. The real insult though was when my wife went to cut into her "filet". It was .5 inches thick with a fat seam running right through the middle......definitely NOT a filet! When the "manager" came to our table he looked at the steak and asked if it was not cooked properly. I pointed out the fact that it was definitely not a filet......he had to agree. Although they offered to replace the meal, I declined due to the incredible insult. My wife and I left without eating, went to Milano for a nice Italian meal, and are unsure if we will ever return to Lotus. Something has changed at this place.....and not for the good!

I made a reservation for 7 pm for 7 people. We came in and our table wasn’t ready, we got seated its now 7:55 and we still don’t have our food. One of the people in our party asked for a sparkling water with lemon and was served a glass of vodka with lemon. She has been sober for over two years and took a drink of it. The waiter disappeared for almost 30 minutes and then finally came over and apologized about the wait. I haven’t even eaten yet and I don’t care to write about how the food is because the experience is already terrible. Don’t waste your money or time. Awful.

We just visited Lotus on Christmas Eve for lunch. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. The calamari was cooked perfectly and the avocado blt was delicious. Patti, the manager, treated us with such kindness at the bar, and Rod in the kitchen stepped out to say help as well. Katerina was excellent as well. 10/10 would recommend!
