We called 20 minutes. Wrote closing and it was obvious the guy didn’t want us to order there. He made it clear we had to be there before 8 (which is understandable) and they only accepted cash. We agreed then he proceeded to tell us we had two choices: minced meat or sliced turkey. We took a little of both as he said it would feed 6-8 people. When we got there 7 minutes before closing they had 2 small tubs of cold meat waiting for us (I’m confident they pulled some leftovers out of the fridge and gave us that). My dog wouldn’t eat it. They forgot the buns, bbq sauce, and any other type of side that you might eat with BBQ. We threw the food in the trash and ordered out. My guess is one of their employees had a bad day and this is not the way this establishment is ran. Definitely won’t be ordering there anytime soon.The photo below cost $27 which included 2 orders of fries and 2 orders of onion rings..
Old, family owned sandwich joint. Their unique barbecue slaw is is great on hamburgers or hot dogs and on their barbecue pork sandwich. Been eating there forever, and will continue to do so. Try it . You'll love it too.
I like Blacks BBQ, the 1 thing if I say anything bad would be I wish their fries were better and I wish they would accept Debit cards. Cash only is not always an option when it's spur of the moment. All together though, I give them 5*s
Great food but you used to be able to go inside to dine in or just pick up. I called in a to go order 15 minutes before I arrived and could not go inside to pick up my order. I called the restaurant to make sure I was supposed to wait in my car and to let them know I was there to pick up my call in order. They said to wave down a car hop and they would bring it out to me. I could not get a car hop to acknowledge me. I waited and eventually just left. Defeats the purpose of calling ahead to make a to go order. If they allow people to come inside again, it could alleviate a lot of the running around on the car hop (I only saw 1) but hopefully, not too many people are having this experience.
First time i was introduced to North Carolina BBQ I was hesitant… now I drive 45 minutes out of my way just to grab minced sandwiches to smuggle back to Florida I definitely get brownie points for this delivery…..
At times my family & I have moved away from Gaston county we Lived in Lebanon Tennessee & Mesquite, Texas & Garland Texas & Pecos, Texas & Paradise, California & Salt Lake City Utah and none of these Places had a family owned restaurant that beckons me back Likened unto Blacks Barbecue I thank God They Have refused to change From their original menu I Love Blacks Barbecue
The food is always great except for the new fries. They aren’t hitting the spot at all. If it’s a price issue then I’m sure people would pay more to have the good fries back!
Good food but if you eat there have exact changeEvidently they still have a coin shortage and they don’t tell youInside not open anymore and cant walk up and order so I won’t be eating there anymore
The food is fresh and we always get top notch service. Those guys run their tails off to make sure everyone is taken care of. They are always busy and that says a lot about this business.
COVID has temperately made Blacks BBQ indoors area unopen to the public. But you will not hear me complain, as this makes getting your food alot faster! Calling it in or driving up takes the same amount of time. Food is delicious as always. 5/5 stars.
