YUMMM Brisket burger, hand cut fries mac and cheese.....it was delicious! Parking is a bit tricky but definitely worth it!
The BBQ here was incredible. Now, I’m not a huge fan of spicy sauce so the next time I go there - cause there WILL BE a next time - I will just ask for no spicy sauce. I ordered fries with as my side item and let me tell you those fries were cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. They offer a variety of specialty BBQ items like burnt ends and pig wings (I believe is what they call them) - but they are only offered on specific days and you best get there early before they are all sold out.
I just have to start by saying WOW. I found Fowlers during a google search on a road trip and the hype is real. This is first of all a veteran owned business (support our Vets!) and you can tell the care that goes into every part of the business from the food to the customer service. There can be a bit of a wait and items can run out quickly as they are super popular due to the limited hours and fantastic food - but trust me it's worth it. I got a pulled pork sandwich with fries and the broccoli salad. The pork was perfectly cooked and shredded and the sauce (I believe is called the Carolina Bee Sting) is super tasty. I got a side of the vinegar sauce, because I love my NC vinegar sauce since VA, SC, and other states just can't seem to get the spices to vinegar ratios correct or maybe the aging process) and it was tempting to just straight up drink that sauce. I didn't. But it was tempting. I did use it all on my fries as a dipping sauce though. Speaking of the fries - they are fatter fries like steak fries but so much better. I like a bit of a sogginess to my BBQ place fries and this had it done right. My husband really like the broccoli salad too - but I didn't get a chance to taste that as I was too into the fries and dipping them in the vinegar sauce. Highly, highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area or just out searching for great BBQ places!
Finally made it to Fowler’s Southern Gourmet and left extremely satisfied. We arrived right when they opened to avoid the crowd (was still second in line), was pleasantly greeted by the owner, and then we placed our order. About ten minutes later, the food arrived and we started to chow down. The “hog wing” was a meaty shank coated with their signature bbq sauce and so tender, it about fell off the bone. 10/10The “burnt ends” I consider melt in your mouth meat candy. It was so good I had to put in a second order. 12/10The sides were a great compliment as well, fresh cut fries, moist cornbread, and pretty good mac & cheese.
Undeniably one of the best restaurants in Fayetteville. My pulled chicken was covered in the sauce of my choice (sweet&spicy), but they have various options to suit any taste. The collards - are so delicious! The Mac n Cheese - Scrumptious! One of my favorite local spots to dine.
Crowds came early to eat at this place- Had the 1/4 pound plate brisket- plus sides Well worth the trip-sat outdoors as the weather was cloudy and not too hot-cornbread was very good also- will certainly return- Steve
Oh wow. Just…..wow. I’ve never had Fowler’s before because I’m allergic to the world, but I came in on a day when they had brisket burgers and I knew that I had to try one. I don’t know if I’ve said this yet, but….wow. It was by far the BEST burger that I’ve ever had. Do I eat out much? No, but I assure you that I’m a connoisseur of a hamburger, and this one was the best. Period. I feel dumb for not taking a picture. The next time.
Hands down, the best cole slaw we have ever had. The pulled pork and brisket burger were up there too (they even make their own American cheese!). Super warm service, the staff and owner went above and beyond. We found them while driving south on I-95 and snuck in right before closing, so many items were sold out, but they fed our entire hungry family and the owner offered to save us portions if we called ahead in our way back north. Southern hospitality at its best!
Very good brisket. Love the fries.
Service was great. They wiped down table immediately after the customers had left. Food tasted excellent. Portion is just right for one single person. Not too big.
