Went to order our dinner, you can take away from your dish but you can't substitute anything. I find that crazy. Not much to choose from off the menu. Food did taste good except the potato salad. It was very bland. Food ended up making my husband sick. The atmosphere is very small . Very cramped in a small space. People behind us was so loud that my husband and I couldn't even hear each other's conversation. The waitress never refilled one tea not even once. It wasn't very busy either. Definitely a one time stop.
Hip vibe, beautiful place, Friendly helpful staff. Great food and delicious handcrafted cocktail.
Always Great food and the drinks are the best. Good service every time.
Great service too! Good bar choices as well
Slightly slow getting recognized at the bar as a solo guest but greeted with smiles and down home friendliness from the bartender.Smoked citrus Shrimp was fabulous. Served with Savannah red rice reminiscent of my aunts favorite recipe topped with shaved brussel sprouts finished off a satisfying meal.
If you'd like to find some of the best food in town with a really great ambience as well, you're going to want to visit Hoppin' Johnz. The menu includes enough options, yet It allows a focus on making each dish the best. It's been a good experience every time.
This used to be our favorite restaurant in Elizabeth City. We just went this month again after they were closed for cleaning during covid. Sad to report that this place has dramatically declined since the change of ownership/management. This place was always amazing and sadly the food is a far resemblance of what it used to be. Our last trip had undercooked pasta (which was the special) undercooked risotto and overcooked pork.I had a bacon shrimp pasta with wine sauce that just tasted like milk water and over cooked pasta.I had other family members go around the same time period and said the same thingIts a shame to have a place that was so good fall so far off the map when a new owner comes in.
Good menu and reasonable priced. We chose Shrimp & Grits and was pleasantly surprised with the combination of ingredients. The taste was great and from the picture, I need to say no more….
Slow service but the oysters were good! This was suppose to be Oysters Rockefeller ? but again the oysters were tasty. We ended up leaving before the entrée was served due to a unreasonable long wait but the owner was very apologetic.
Great restaurant in downtown Elizabeth City. Always fresh and delicious. A definite must for dining.
