Just fantastic. The inside is much nicer than the outside - don’t be deterred! Food is solid authentic Korean eats. Will not disappoint when you have a craving!
This place used to be my favorite Korean restaurant until about 5-6 months ago. Around July 2021, I noticed the restaurant was closing down frequently so I asked the owner what was going on. Apparently her husband had some wrist injury from overworking and that he needed some rest. Then about a month later when I visited again she told me that she’ll no longer be owning the place; the old owner tricked her with the lease and that she had to go. I did come back once more in September and everything tasted like $h!t. They no longer have JJampong and their tofu soup (which is literally their name) tasted just like red pepper bland water. If you scroll through the recent reviews you’ll see what I mean. I will not come back again.
I've been eating here for over a decade, but recently I don't know if the owner changed. We hadn't had luck in eating here, as when we showed up, they seemed to be closed. We did notice the inside had some remodeling done. It was nice and neat, but that is where it ended. The food today was terrible. My wife noticed it as well. We always get the Tofu soup. Tofu soup has been a staple of the restaurant as long as I can remember but both of our soups were terrible. The soup tasted like plane water. I ordered spicy, which it was, but it was more like spicy pepper water. My wife had the beef soup, and there was less than 1/4 tsp of something that resembled beef in her soup. The Kimchi sides, which we also look forward too, were also terrible. The cabbage Kimchi hadn't even fermented and literally tasted bitter. I've tasted better from what I buy at Costco. The spicy cucumber seemed to be the only thing that tasted well.It has been a few months or so since we were last there. I remember complementing the lady about how much better the soup was than H-Mart. But today was a big enough disaster that I cannot find value in making the extra drive for Tofu Soup, as the restaurant at H-Mart is significantly better than what we had today. So sad, I feel another great restaurant has lost it.
Don’t know why they have such a high rating!! Food tasted bad. Packagin for to-go was awful. And they mixed up my order. I ordered kimchi fried rice and they put sausage or something into it. I had to throw it away. Kimchi pancake was also too oily to enjoy. I had a great experience with Kim’s Korean market. Wanted to try a nearby Korean place. Food wise I will not recommend.
Only 2 people working and I still got my food quickly. Plus it was delicious.
It was the customer service for me! Granted, the food was absolutely delicious but the way my daughter and I were treated, was the icing on the cake. They went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed without my asking so.Oh, my 3 yr old ate every single chicken dumpling! They're delicious!
I had to go tofu soup. That is the soup…
It's good, cozy place. Can be a backup Korean place for this area.
Such a nice owner. She makes the foods herself. Entrees were delicious! Side dishes were so fresh and seasoned well. Very clean and neat. Recommend if you like authentic Korean food
This one deserves the 5 stars all around, the staff was friendly, service was quick and food was amazing. My favorite part about the experience were the side dishes, there was plenty and so much variety compared to other Korean restaurants I’ve been too. This has become an instant gfavorite.
