Me and a couple of friends dined here on an early Saturday evening after an event we were hosting. There was a rush of people that came in after this so please keep this in mind if you decide to dine here during the weekend. This location is close to where we held our event, and it is conveniently located in downtown Durham. There was street parking available, and there is a parking deck adjacent to the restaurant, if you prefer to park there. We chose this location because we were especially looking for somewhere that had outdoor seating and somewhere with decent food and drinks. While we didn't watch any sports games while we were there, there are large TVs scattered throughout the restaurant so it's the perfect spot to watch a game. The staff that were at the host stand greeted us when we came in and were very friendly. They laughed and joked with us as they led us to where we would be sitting. I ordered the crab cakes (remember to ask for these without the ham if you don't eat meat), which were pretty good. There was a piece of hair cooked into one of our crab cakes so we sent it back for them to remake. The staff were very apologetic about it and agreed to remove the item from our check. I also ordered the shrimp tacos, which I wasn't crazy about, but it was one of the few options I could choose from since I'm a pescatarian. We had two servers, one of which was being trained. They were very kind and seemed to be enjoying having us as guests. The other server (trainer) was very rude and asked us several times only a few minutes apart if we wanted to order anything else, which we interpreted as them being ready for us to leave. I gave this place four (4) stars because of the hair we found in our food and the unfriendly server we had.

If you go to Tobacco Road, you have to request Nydiyah!! She is AMAZING and so attentive and sweet. You won’t regret it! Food and drinks were fresh and yummy. We’ll be back to see our girl soon!!

Tobacco Road goes above and beyond the usual sports bar to include good drinks and great food. Our expectations were superbly exceeded. Located with a spectacular view of the Durham Bull’s valley field, Tobacco Road boasts a great atmosphere for a casual lunch to catching up with friends and family. When you visit Durham, make sure to swing by Tobacco Road and treat yourself to a good time. You might even catch a baseball game!

Use their waitlist option to save on wait time (via phone you can get waitlisted, see their site). Fun to watch practice and grab a bite. The apps we had where pretzel bites and ribs. The ribs were very good and nice portions. Pretzel bites and beer cheese was also good. If sitting outside beware of flying baseballs. I left off a star since our fries were soggy with our burgers. Our wait staff was awesome too.

Four hours on the waitlist for a family of 4 and never got a table. Find that really hard to believe.

Several co-workers met for a afternoon gathering. We had drinks and late lunch. Nice view of Durham ballpark, nice sitting on deck. Had entrees like shrimp tacos, pulled pork, several salads, sliders- yummy. Nice beer offerings and mixed cocktails. Cannot wait to return. Aishah did a wonderful job and pleasant way about her…a fun afternoon

Love Tobacco Road!!! It is right next to the DPAP and they have tvs playing every sport imaginable. The food is excellent and the waitstaff were very accommodating.

I've been here many times, but I'll never go back. Our group of 3 arrived on a Monday evening, and though the place was fairly empty were told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table due to staffing issues. No problem, this is par for the course right now. We asked if we could wait on the patio, and if a server could come out after the 15 minutes. Sure, no problem.30 minutes go by, and meanwhile two out of three occupied patio tables leave and are cleared. The hostess came out to sanitize the tables and we asked her if we could get some service since it's been more than 15 minutes. She was VERY rude, and said, "Well you actually never put your name in." and disappeared inside. We waited another 10 minutes for her or anyone to come and give us menus, check on us or even take our drinks order and nothing. We left. Won't be going back. There are plenty of better options downtown.

Went there on Monday April 25 around 2 a delightful young lady named sammelia greeted us at the door and was our server. She made our experience very enjoyable. They just had a rush and it was 3 servers and the bartender. Those girls just got there butts handed to them but delivered food and drinks with a smile. Management it's very hard to find good help I know I work in the same industry everything was great my fries were cold only bad thing but the service great will be back with more people thank you so much

Looking for excuses to go back to Durham and try more menu items. We stopped in for a quick bite before a concert at DPAC and our food was great; as was the service. I would imagine that this place could dish out mediocre food and still stay busy (given the location); but that is not at all the case. I believe our waiter's name was Antoine. He asked us if we were going to the show, and expedited our service accordingly.
