I enjoyed every bite. My only regret, I was only able to eat about half. So, I boxed up the rest and looked forward to eating the rest later. Ten minutes later I became very sad as I realized I'd left it on the table
One of my favorites in Durham. Great sandwiches and soup - have never had a meal I didn't love. Owner works the register and is the kindest person who makes you feel welcome. Can get crowded but nice seating outside too. Highly recommend.
Toast is my favorite restaurant in Durham! Their food is incredibly creative, fresh, and more affordable than its neighboring competition. I recommend their soups and crostinis!
I just started working in downtown Durham in October and asked around for good lunch places. One word came up over and over - 'Toast'!! They were all correct - I've now been here about 5 times and couldn't be happier with what I've had!! Chicken panini was delicious, really loved the Shrimp and Sunchoke sandwich and the Tuscan Kale is awesome too!! Staff is some of the friendliest I have ever encountered and I've actually worked in restaurants for 20+ years so I know putting on that bright smile doesn't always come easily but I'm always extremely impressed by how friendly everyone here has been!!! My new downtown lunch gem!! Keep it up guys- you rock!!
I wanted to give toast five stars and in the past it has been but honestly the crustinies were just okay.... They were not warm and the flavors just didn't have the pop that they used to pre covid. Almost like the crustiness were made the day before and they just put the toppings on.
Really good sandwiches and crostinis. Only problem is the prices are definitely high for what you get. Nice every once in awhile. Would be cool if there was some sort of crostini sampler option, ordering them a la carte gets a bit overly expensive
Totally underwhelming. Overpriced and overrated.
I work in downtown Durham and this is my favorite place to get lunch. It never disappoints! The salads are the best! So fresh and yummy!
The best lunch I've had so far in downtown Durham. They have some very unique sandwich offerings, and it's all delicious. Upscale feel.
Their food is always wonderful and different. I love the farm to table items that they carry. I called to get the ingredients for their yellow squash risotto soup that is most excellent, they were very helpful. I enjoy eating there when I get the chance.
