I came down from out of town to come visit and my bestie took me there and we spent like $135 in drink and food and they were very racist to us as women of color. They have great decor. The cabanas are like $300. They took for ever to attend to us and we waited hour. Others that were not women or men of color were served before us. I was so disappointed because I had high expectations for this place.
So much fun! Took a dip between drinks and meal! A blast
Kitchen and bar closes at 8 during the week. Disappointed I couldn’t try it! Wish that was more widely communicated.
Think college frat party but with a mix of generations. Small pool, no shade, many menu cocktails unavailable, finicky so so DJ. But good ppl watching and with right expectations you can have a good time.
Best birthday celebration
The Unscripted needs to get their act together!!! This was a Drag Brunch. The key is booze!! The bar was under stocked and SLOW! We waited 45 minutes for our drinks....and they were wrong! Come on....get your act together.
Strap In for this one - I recently had an entire wedding party stay at Unscripted Durham. We booked 10 rooms total and here is how it went down. 1) The Pool: To use the chairs around the pool, you have to spend a minimum of 100 dollars per chair. To use the "cabana", which is just cheap outdoor furniture, you have to spend 500 dollars. You can sit in some really uncomfortable restaurant chairs for free though, so there's that... 2) The Rooms: the rooms are actually pretty nice, albeit basic. Try to avoid being put in the handicap room unless you need it. If you don't, then you'll end up with a shower that doesn't have a seperation from the water and it just spreads across the bathroom floor. Additionally, one of the rooms had cockroaches, and another roof had a water leak from the ceiling. 3) The Roomservice: they don't answer the phone, and they don't change the sheets, make the beds, or give you new towels unless requested. But then when you request it, they are about 50/50 on showing up. We had a plate and glass set outside our door that wasn't ours, and it sat in the hall for two days. 4) If you're using the sales team, good luck. It took about 20 calls, multiple emails, and a lot of back and forth to get a block of rooms. Then when our guests arrived, the software wasn't used correctly and all the rooms were booked under one persons name. It only took another half day to fix. 5) There was only one saving grace - this dude named Jack. He basically did whatever he could to make things work and he is awesome. He should be the GM. The rooms should cost a solid 120, not 250+.
Horrible experience where they charged my card 3 times! You can’t get ahold of anyone at the location to discuss the charges, even after leaving voicemails and multiple calls. They were so unorganized that I had to let them know we had a reservation so I wouldn’t get charged for not showing up. But for some reason I was still charged..even after spending the food and drink minimum with a physical receipt. There were people in our seats that we reserved, and staff just said sit anywhere..which was not what we were paying for. I’m just blown that they don’t even check the reservations or confirm who you are and still charge you! Keep your receipts!
For someone not staying at the hotel the restaurant is connected to its a little confusing finding entrance, got help from a guest. Outside so definitely check the weather. Nice service. Pricey drinks but you get what you pay for strong tasty drink. Didnt try much on the small food menu but what I did eat was good and flavorful!
Visited with a large group of people this evening after a Durham Bulls game. Some of us were hotel guests and some were locals. We got to the pool bar at 10pm and the hostess was still at the stand so I told her that we had a large group and she said they had no seats available and the kitchen is closed, but we were free to get a drink at the bar and stand around until 11pm, which was fine. Except the pool area was literally only 1/3 full with plenty of empty seats, we got asked to move because we were blocking the bar staff walk-up, and then the bar tender was extremely rude and took our orders, but said they were closing. So to sum it up, the atmosphere is okay, but don’t bother if it’s remotely close to closing time.
