This is a great spot with so much potential but unfortunately the new owners seem to just not get it right. Not certain why they do not go back to utilizing the food trucks. When that was going on there was always a crowd there but now it is like a ghost town and their kitchen prepared food is just not great. Hope they get it figured out.
Yum! This place rocks! Hip, local food in a tight knit community, kind, accommodating staff, and AMAZING food! We went here for an end of year teachers lunch and it had us all licking our fingers. I would definitely go here again. Lovely indoor, covered patio, shady outdoor, and full sun outdoor seating and a variety of well curated food options gives something for everyone!
It has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating plus the food is inexpensive. Also, Plenty of TVs to watch the big games.
They got rid of all the BBQ items on their menu because "the guy who owned the smoker left". Now it's just overpriced drinks and mediocre food. It was a 5 star place but now it's just not worth going and sitting in the Food Lion parking lot for food you can pretty much get anywhere in Durham. The drinks are good but are light on volume and cost $12-$15/drink.
A fun dining experience! Went on a week night and there was ample sitting room. Nice to just order at the bar and hang out and play some of the games. Has a great indoor outdoor area which is nice for containing kids! Definitely a good nice to hang out for the afternoon or evening.BBQ burger was great and the garlic fries were amazing!
Absolutely enjoyed my time here. The customer service is nothing less than amazing, and the environment is perfect for friends, family, and even coworkers. Their menu varies from formal to fine dining. They also have small decorated barns available for reservation. The brussel sprouts that everyone mentions are extremely great. We always enjoy our time here!
Chill place good food, you order everything up at the bar and then can just sit wherever, nice outside area
I love the atmosphere here. The location is great because there isn't much else nearby. The food was fantastic. I would love for them to add a Garlic Aioli for those delicious fries though.
This is the place to go if you like a side of heavy cigarette smoke with your meal on the heated patio. It so happens that I don’t, and had been promised by management that the venue is smokefree. Despite their repeated verbal and written promises, it turned out to not be smokefree, nor do they take any measures to ensure that it is that we could see. Clearly they are unconcerned about customer health, wellbeing, and safety—at least they were about ours on Tuesday evening.Prior to our dinner, I had communicated extensively with management and been assured by two managers, via phone and email, that the entire venue was 100% smokefree, including the large, uncovered area where the smokers stood. I went to such lengths because I have a serious illness, much like a peanut allergy: the slightest whiff of cigarette smoke causes an instant, violent reaction—a serious illness that steals days of my life. Nothing prevents or alleviates the condition. Because smokers are now by law driven outdoors—a mixed blessing—I am extremely careful in outdoor areas. When we arrived and were seated on the covered patio, mostly enclosed with vinyl, we were concerned to not see any ‘no smoking’ signs in the uncovered area. We were enjoying a lovely dinner, when, predictably, two smokers appeared, their smoke drifted into our area, and our dinner was ruined. We paid the bill and left immediately. The problem at Honeysuckle was preventable. First, management could’ve taken seriously my words, not to mention their own, by posting no-smoking signs—but they didn’t. Second, none of them were present, but they could’ve alerted staff who were—but they didn’t. And the manager on duty—a person named Kasha I believe—is rude, unprofessional, and inappropriate. She essentially scolded us for misunderstanding, informing us that Honeysuckle is in fact “a bar; what do you expect?” I think that attitude would surprise the chef, who does a credible job preparing the food. Speaking of food: if management is as cavalier about food allergies as they are about cigarette smoke, a lawsuit seems inevitable at some point. Here’s the issue: 100% smokefree means just that: 100% smokefree. A place either allows smoking—or it doesn’t. And a person’s word is good—or it isn’t. What other Honeysuckle statements are suspect? Or that of its related restaurants? The owner, Tom Meyer, is a longtime area restaurateur. How did he fail to hire accountable management for this venue?Honeysuckle has a lot to learn about hospitality. First rule: Don’t lie to your customers. Second rule: Don’t send them home sick.
It took them 1hr and 30 minutes for the food to come and they got all the orders wrong. The steak was raw and we ordered it medium, they didn't have any drinks and the food was horrible. I will not be coming back here
