great venue, beautiful lighting

Beautiful space. The all-inclusive aspect is really nice when considering a wedding venue! The open house I attended had great food and decor. However, I was initially quoted $40 per person as a service charge to use an outside caterer (heads up if Indian food is a nonnegotiable), then that changed to $50 per person in the sample contract for an unknown reason. I asked for clarification and never got a response (not the first time of slow/no response). I get that it’s really busy in the wedding industry, but with the astronomical cost of a wedding, you want to feel like vendors actually want your business.

Cotton Room has some of the most beautiful windows of any of venue in the area. It is well run. Lots of space for the wedding party to get ready with privacy. The large venue allows room for the ceremony and the reception next to each other. As a wedding officiant, I truly enjoy officiating there. They are wonderful to work with .

We needed to sue the Cotton Room to get our deposit back for our wedding reception that they never hosted. I would not trust them and do not recommend booking them for your event. We booked a wedding reception for 150 people for 9/5/20. On that day, the NC Governor had an Executive Order in place limiting mass gatherings due to COVID, so our wedding reception obviously could not safely or legally take place. We asked the Cotton Room to return our deposit since we could not have our wedding. The Executive Director's response included: "We will not be giving you a deposit back. That is non negotiable and will not happen"With no other choice, we were forced to sue to recoup the deposit we had given (>$15,000). After nearly two years, we reluctantly agreed to a settlement so we could avoid further legal fees and start planning a new wedding.I feel the Cotton Room owners and Executive Director treated us rudely, callously, and unfairly, ruining what was supposed to be one of the best days of our lives. I would caution others to consider our customer experience when deciding whether to work with the Cotton Room in the future.

Well it was kind of small.. The atmosphere was good. The drinks could be a little bit bigger they were kind of small.

I emailed twice, filled out the form on their website, AND left a voicemail to try and schedule an appointment to see their venues( cotton room and belt Station) for our wedding and their coordinator wouldn’t offer us a time.I then called their catering department and reached a lady and she told me she’ll pass my message to Natalie, the events coordinator. Shortly afterwards Natalie called me back and She had a lot of attitude In her tone. Told me she wasn’t trying to ignore me (but after trying in several ways to schedule a tour and getting to response back, of course I felt ignored). My initial email to her was on 2/12 and she finally called me back today 2/21.She said she can’t offer us a tour on a weekend, only Monday through Friday. I told her my partner works M-F so “are there ANY Weekends you don’t have a wedding scheduled so we can come by to see the space?” , her answer was no. I find that hard to believe…She told me if we can’t make it during the weekdays, then our only option is to do a virtual tour. Who would be comfortable renting a space for their wedding and signing a contract without seeing the space in person?!I said we can show up literally ANY weekend. ANY. And she still said no…..That’s so disappointing. No desire whatsoever to try and accommodate our availability. We could’ve even showed up early morning (as early 8:30 am) before a scheduled event to see the space but she flat out refused to accommodate.

My husband and I got married at The Cotton Room in October 2021. It is a stunning venue and the staff helped make our evening as close to perfect as possible. A huge thanks to our coordinator Heather. She was there from the beginning to guide us through the planning process and answer our questions and did an amazing job the evening of the wedding. Not sure how she could be in so many places at once! We have had a lot of compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed our event. Overall, we are very glad that we chose The Cotton Room to host our wedding and highly recommend!

Beautiful place for receptions and events, with outstanding service!

Very nice place to hold an event and very stylish. If I had the money to rent the place I would do so. I did have a good time being there tonight.
