Quick service. The food is pretty good, priced appropriately with good portions. Hot and sour soup was very nice and came with fried chips of some kind. My only complaint was the fried rice seemed like regular white rice tossed unevenly with soy sauce. Still very happy with my order though.
The best restaurant I have ever ate at, I ordered the cashew chicken and I believe he ordered the general tso. Great restaurant great vibes and very fast service . This was my first time going and I was really impressed will definitely be going back!
I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp with Scallions in tangy spicy sauce and it was so good! It was spicy with a hint of sweet. My son order the tangy chicken and he loved it. My daughter limed the shrimp fried rice. My son is so picky about his food and I was so happy he tried something new and loved it. We will be definitely be going back!!
Great value place. Visited it for first time after car broke across the street. I've been in may Chinese restaurants and this one exceeded my expectations. The fried rice special was only 8.99, big enough for two meals with lots of meat on it and a great flavor. Also, the service was fast and nice. That the place was packed around 2pm says a lot about their business, they may be doing something well. Recommended!
A friend of mine introduced me to this place. I will say this you must try the salt and pepper pork chop. Most delicious Chinese dish I have every had. The fried rice was also excellent. I also had to tofu dish which was not bad. Service was good, and fast.
If you expect to have a cocktail and relax before dinner, go elsewhere. We had been here once before and had difficulty ordering a drink but finally got something close to what we wanted, had some reasonably good food (not stellar, but okay) and unless someplace is terrible, we will usually try it more than once. Tonight was our second try. Ordered Jack Daniels and ginger ale and Jim Beam with club soda. Waiter said they had gin. Explained again what we wanted. He came back holding a bottle of gin and said they had Jack but no Jim Beam or ginger ale or club soda. I said "you must have some mixers" and he said "no" and I said "you mean everyone must drink liqour straight" and he said "yes". I said "that can't be true" and he volunteered to get "the lady" who would know more. She came, was perfectly fluent in English, which raised our hopes but she then said they only had small bottles of club soda and had to save it for other drinks (HUH ???) and went on to say (in a huff) that they had no ginger ale and she was too busy to go to the store. We left and we're not doing a 3rd. try on this one. We are new to Durham but I'm sure there must be some better Chinese in the Triangle! We'll keep looking.
Of course we had to go to Shanghai Restaurant for Chinese New Year dinner! The food is absolutely amazing and the portions are huge. Everything we ordered took less than 20 minutes to prepare. Tonight’s menu consisted of fried shrimp balls and dumplings appetizers then entrées of sesame chicken, sesame beef, and salt pepper shrimp with a side of garlic yu choy. Honestly, my Chinese mother would be impressed. Also, if you’ve not been to Shanghai in a while, you’re in for a treat. The restaurant has been newly renovated and it looks so good. It still has the authentic Chinese restaurant feel but with a modern twist. Thank you Shanghai for helping us kick off the Year of the Tiger with great food. ? ?
I thought that I would be in for a treat, but I was very disappointed. I had General Tso with fried rice and egg roll. The egg roll was bland, The general tso was dry and tasteless, with barely any sauce, no spice. The fried rice tasted burnt. I don’t plan to visit this place again. I’m only giving it two stars because it was edible
Great food! Service was surprisingly fast for the amount of other customers on a Friday night. We ordered the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sesame tofu, hot and sour soup, and some dumplings. All still delicious and hot after a 20 minute ride home! Most ordering is online which is very convenient. Great service. 5 stars.
Good turn around time and exceptionally kind and helpful staff.A little disappointed in the general tso’s chicken I got. The breading was super soggy, there was hardly any spice and the sauce was quite watery.
