The food here is sooooo yummy. Love the atmosphere here. Inside and outside seating. Everyone who works here is awesome and friendly!! I love coming here!!
Looked this place up on the internet and made plans to try when we came to Durham to visit my son at college. My wife was greeted by two young ladies who immediately offered to assist her with her decision on trying the soul bowl. I ordered the chic n tender plate with mac n cheese and fries to go. Order was ready in about 5mins. My wife loved her Soul bowl as she devoured it within 15 mins. My plate was also delicious. We will definitely stop by again when we're back in Durham.
One of my favorites in the Durham area. Delicious and creative vegan bbq, comfortable seating and ambiance, the nicest staff, a real gem. We’ve loved everything we’ve ordered here, but have a soft spot for the Soul Mac.
got the bbq plate with mac n cheese and kale caesar salad. kale salad was SO GOOD with crunchy chickpeas. mac n cheese was good, but could’ve been saucier. fake bbq was saucy and convincing. cornbread was crunchy and moist, too. they gave me a free tea for being a first-time customer! definitely coming back
The food was a pleasant surprise! I've wanted to try this place out for a few months now. I came with my friends and sisters for my birthday! No one was vegan but they all enjoyed the food! We all ordered different dishes, so we could try each other's. I ordered the Kind Chicken sandwich, other's ordered shrimp and rice with a side of kale salad and corn bread. The corn bread is super moist!!! My kind Chicken sandwich is my go to now. Also ordered was the impossible burger and the egg rolls! I definitely will be coming back!!! The artwork in the back room is awesome!
So glad to have another awesome option for vegans! Food was delish, but service was AMAZING! Andrew was so attentive and gave great recommendations. Can’t wait to go back!
I ate here a couple times while visiting the area. The food was so good I just wanted to try everything! The fish was great, I have a hard time finding good vegan fish but that really hit the spot. The soul rolls were amazing and such a unique dish. The barbeque was excellent and the mac and cheese was some of the best I've had in a really long time! I enjoyed the cold slaw as well. Can't recommend this place enough.
Just wow! They've got vegan comfort food down. We tried the chkn sandwich, cheese fries, soul mac, soul rolls and kale caesar. We would order any of those again. Especially the Chkn sandwich. Fantastic! Drinks were free for our first time in, and we got a free slice of AMAZING *cheese*cake because today is our anniversary (getting free cake wasn't why I mentioned that to you guys btw ?)We had to work today & chose this place for a late celebratory lunch because a good vegan restaurant is so hard to find. Well that's exactly what we found. It was close to where we were working, but 45 mins from home. We will be making that drive to get more pure soul food for sure.
Yum yum yum!!!! Diverse menu with so many great options.100% vegan and many gluten free items as well.The kale Caesar salad and cheesy fries are two of my favorite items. The shrimp also didn’t disappoint!!
I had the NC BBQ plate which includes coleslaw and 2 sides. I got Mac-n-cheese and greens but also ordered a slice of cornbread.For BBQ they used jackfruit. I liked the sauce and the texture. I loved all of my sides as well. I'm excited to try something different (my friend liked the chicken better than the BBQ so probably that) next time!
