Waited a little over 10 minutes in total from ordering to getting food. The chicken sandwiches had no sauce. They were bone dry to bite no juice whatsoever. Over fried. The regular chicken was decent at best. The rice was mushy and barely seasoned.

Complete and utter trash fire. Walked in to an empty dining room, should've been my first red flag during a dinner rush time. Waited 5 minutes for someone to take my order, order was taken. Nice simple 2 piece combo, right? Took 25 minutes. Within those 25 minutes, two other orders were taken inside, all of them recieving their food before me. The guy at front didn't know how to do anything, and management refused to stick around and help an obviously confused employee.Find better more seasoned management, pay them well, they will teach and treat their cashier's and cooks well, and in turn you will get happy customers and not an overwhelming amount of 1 star reviews. Or, and get this; train your current managers? Mind blown right?

Don’t go here. You will wait 20-30 minutes regardless of how many cars or people there are and your food will be cold. There is always a long wait here and then you get up to the window and they are doing nothing, don’t even know what your order is despite that not being the case literally anywhere else, they’re always out of everything, and they will be rude. Go anywhere else. All other Popeyes in Durham are far superior to this one. It’s like this staff isn’t even trained.

I waited in line for over a hour for tenders they look nasty and cold. This location needs an entire new staff. The owner need to shut down until they can fully staff the location. The owner is obviously money hungry. From the reviews they will never make the money back that went in from this single location. Until this place is staffed fully it will always be in the black being funded by another location both are bad business moves but until then I need my $60 back the $30 I spent with you an the $30 I had to spent else where because my family would not eat that. They wouldn’t even eat the food they handed out that window. Is almost disrespectful

In trying to start off with something good, I must say that I have experienced a good meal here on a previous day trip. However, our visit last night was deplorable. Essentially it was nearly an hour long wait in the drive-thru (dining room was closed) for food that was not only bad, but actually well on its way to spoilage. Most importantly, these observations are likely the results of staff that seemed beyond overworked, and too few to properly operate a restaurant in a fairly popular location. Whoever is running this particular restaurant needs to seriously address these issues, as they are a serious health concern for the employees as well as the customers.

Waited in line for a half an hour with only 6 cars in front of me. This location already has a reputation for being slow so I counted the cars before I got in line, hoping that I could be out within at least 15 minutes. Nope! It was twice that long. I got a 3 wing combo and the lady said "Ok. $9.96" I said it back to her. "$9.96 for a 3 wing combo?" She just belted out "YES". There's no way it cost that much! Last time I was here it was $5.99 plus tax! When I got to the window they did do the price correction without a fuss but overall the service is slow and the workers are incompetent.

Honestly I was pretty excited to try Popeyes for the first time, but with my mothers order they literally had us waiting for almost an hour outside and even forgot about us till we had to remind them. They were kind enough to give us a refund for the terrible long wait and customer service. So next time they tell you to wait in the parking, don’t. Wait at the window !

For some reason this location is not a good as the other location in Durham. Seems like the spicy chicken is never really spicy. I've tried 3 times too, thinking it may have been a fluke, but unfortunately not. Sucks because this location is close to home for me.

I have tried so hard to be patient with this location, but today was the last straw, and I will never go to this location ever again. There’s a reason this location barely has 2 stars on Google when the Guess Rd. location has 4.2 stars.I have been understanding. I have tried to keep in mind that they opened during a pandemic, that food service work is hard work and is too often underpaid, that it has been a tough time to hire enough staff, etc. Here are a list of problems that have occurred during previous visits, after which I did not bother to complain: missing items that were paid for, wrong items, wrong drinks, and taking 10-15 minutes minimum to fulfill each and every drive-thru order.Today the line was short and was moving more efficiently than normal. It only took me a maximum of 5 minutes to reach the speaker to tell the cashier my name and mobile order #. When I got to the second window to collect my food, I was told to pull to the front of the restaurant and someone would bring it out to me. No problem, I thought. I was wrong.About 10 minutes later, there had been no sign of anyone coming, so I got out of my car and walked back to the pickup window to ask if they remembered that I was still waiting for my order. Only then was I told that my order of blackened tenders had to be made fresh, hence the delay.(1) It would have been nice to tell me that when I originally went through the drive-thru line and give me an estimated wait time(2) it would have been even better to ask me if I had the time to wait or if I would be okay with fried tenders instead.I was told they were “coming right out” and went back to my car. About 30 minutes total after confirming my order # at the speaker, the worker from window #2 finally brought my food outside. I cannot understand how it takes 30 minutes to prepare a fast food order, even if it has to be “made fresh”. I checked my order, and even after all that time, they had forgotten to include an extra biscuit I had paid for, so I asked the worker who brought my food to please grab it for me, as I had paid for it and had waited so long for my order. She went back inside but never came back! I had to get out of my car yet again and go back around to the drive-thru window, where the worker was back to dealing with orders for cars in the drive-thru. Only then did she rudely thrust the biscuit at me out the window, as if the whole situation was somehow my fault. It would have taken 1-2 minutes max to bring me the missing item, and it is absolutely ridiculous that they couldn’t be bothered to prioritize completing my order so I could finally leave, as the drive-thru wasn’t even busy at the time.In the time I was sitting waiting for my order, I saw at least 2 other customers park their cars, check their orders, and then walk back to the drive-thru window to address problems with their orders. At this point, everyone knows this location is going to get the orders wrong. To add insult to injury, as I drove away, I sipped my drink and was 98% sure they had given me diet Coke instead of regular Coke, as I hate the aspartame taste. I stopped at a gas station on my way home to buy a fountain Coke there. After tasting the gas station Coke, I was 100% sure that Popeye’s had given me the wrong drink. Then when I got home, I realized that of the 2 sauces I had selected for my order, only 1 was correct. It is really pathetic to make 3 mistakes (omitting a paid-for item, the wrong drink, and the wrong sauce) on a single order that took 30 minutes to prepare when the store isn’t even busy. Save yourself the time, energy, aggravation, and wasted $$. Do not ever go to this location. Just go to Guess Rd.

Miserable experience. I have given them two chances. Never again. Three times the so-called staff repeated my order, only to keep one sandwich, I guess for a quick and lazy dinner. It’s not like anyone is going to drive back to the store and wait in that insane line to get the sandwich replaced while the other food gets cold. Nice racket if you can get it. You have to wonder what percent of their orders are similarly inaccurate. Further, the food is entirely disappointing. My large red beans and rice consisted of a spoonful of rice and three beans suspended in a container bean juice—and the container was only 3/4 full.
