Finally I have had a good true fire oven cooked pizza with quality and perfection done right. My last visit to a place similar to this was Brix, it was horrible and I still will not go back. You should never see your crust dry anywhere near the center. This place had it covered, and just the right amount of toppings.Great job guys.Bartender was very helpful and friendly.I will be back.
Finally made it! Been on my list a while and it was a good place for the niece and I to go before the DPAC show. We ordered the brussel sprouts, Malfatti Dumplings and Drunken Horse pizza. When the brussel sprouts came we thought we were getting Brussels and Fennel Gratin, but got a salad instead. Menu isn't updated on the site. Everything was still delicious, but I would still live to sample the Brussels and Fennel Gratin. The atmosphere is good and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Didn't get to try the housemate Gelato so I'll have to go back.
Nice little pizza joint located in an old fire house. Pizzas are personal-sized (12 inches or so), and use delicious ingredients. Drinks are served in mason jars, which is fun. They also have some good alcoholic options (their margarita was pretty tasty). I would definitely return here.
Walk up counter, quick service, delicious pizza. Kids loved their red sauce pie. Wife and I were equally pleased with the shroom pie w caramelized onions and goat cheese. Cool little nook w toys for the kiddos. Pie crust charred but not overcooked. 9/10
Found after a quick walk downtown waiting for my room to be ready at Unscripted- great find. Wonderful pizza delivered to the table unsliced with a pair of scissors to cut your own and a nice cold beer. Cool friendly space. And very hospitable staff. Will be back
Got the Florian and the oil was great with the crust. As a flat crust NY guy I really enjoy the neopolitans they make here. Had the Florian with a morvens alley IPA. Solid combo.
I love this place! The gluten-free, dairy-free (creamy cashew 'cheese)' pizza was wonderful, and looked like a work of art!(Toppings: fresh basil, mushrooms, farm fresh egg, and chili oil)The salad and polenta with collards were fantastic, too :-)My husband really likes the Drunken Horse pizza
The pizza here is outstanding! So many options to pick from! Always fresh ingredients with the perfect amount of sweetness in the sauce. I love garlic and carmelized onions with mozzarella on my pizza! Mmmmm one of my favorite spots!!
We liked the ordering at the counter when you walk in. There are partitions to distance customers who are masked, when they come in and order, from the tables where customers are eating and not masked. Within minutes we had our beers. There's a small but well chosen menu of craft beers on draft, mostly from local brewery, and they rotate the taps regularly. We ordered a classic margarita and a white pizza with portobello mushrooms and goat cheese to share. Both were delicious. The crust was thin and bubbly with just the right amount of char. I personally prefer the tomato sauce slightly sweeter, but that's just me, I couldn't fault the margarita. I rarely order white pizza as it often is either dry or too rich or greasy with white sauce. This one may be about the best I've had, with roasted garlic and caramelized onion, portobello mushrooms and topped with goat cheese. It was just the right balance and all the flavors came through. You could taste the roasted garlic without it being overpowering, the caramelized had the the tight amount of sweetness to perfectly balance out the goat cheese. And it was a generous amount of goat cheese. I would absolutely come come back for that pizza and can't wait to try some other ones. They are served with scissors to cut. I was hesitant at first, but it works great and it's effortless.Other than the food, the setting is casual but comfortable and inviting in an old building downtown. Last but not least, service was great. Friendly and efficient without being overbearing. The pizzas arrived in under ten minutes.
I was visiting Durham for work and got into town late. Saw this pizza spot and grabbed a couple on the way to my Airbnb. Their vegan cheese was incredible and the garlic sauce they use was out of this world! Will definitely be back.
