Great place to eat, fantastic authentic Italian cuisine, had the Italian Chicken with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, Cheese Manicotti was excellent, Meat Lasagna to die for and definitely need to try the Summer Chicken. Great food, friendly staff, overall great experience, highly recommend.
Never disappoints, this has been our family gathering restaurant since we’ve moved to North Carolina. Staff is courteous, food is good and it’s kid friendly as well. Everyone enjoys the hot bread. Don’t leave without dessert, they have a wonderful lemon cake that i normally start with.
The Lasagna was quite good, but I really enjoyed the Minestrone soup. My kids got the Penne with Bolognese Sauce which was a sizeable plateful of pasta & sauce. They seem to serve generous portions.
My husband and I had passed by this restaurant on our way to a medical appointment--and we decided to try it for dinner. Wonderful! We felt welcomed from the moment we entered. We had an attentive waitperson, Libby, who offered recommendations when asked. The dishes hit the spot. We only wish we had left room for a slice of one of their homemade cheesecakes. We'll be back!
This is the type of restaurant that is kept alive by the older generation who went to dinner there on prom night or first date 30 years ago. The food was okay. The chicken was rubbery and the sauce was watery. There was flavor but it just seemed diluted. Garlic knots were just dough covered in garlic. The tomato sauce tastes like a homemade sauce but lacking a good kick. The desserts were the best part of the meal. The prices are about 30% too high. A soft drink alone is $3+??? Gordon Ramsay could make this place nice but doubtful he is coming to Durham anytime soon.
A bit tricky for out-of-towners like us to get into the place, but well worth the effort. We walked in the door, just looking to see if it was where we wanted to eat. My wife saw the cakes in the display case, and I KNEW we would be eating there. Good service! Unfortunately, I failed to catch the person's name, but she was cheerful, friendly, and fast. Wife and I shared our entrees, so we each sampled two dishes. I had stuffed manicotti, and... some of whatever my wife ordered (I forget now, what she had - bad, eh?). It was all good - LOTS of cheese! Pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant also has a screened-in veranda for outdoor dining, and they offer a discount for either seniors, or military. I can't recall which. Be sure to ask, if you fit in those slots.
My manager and I were on a business trip needing a quick lunch. This restaurant was close to the hotel and I love Italian, so we stopped in for a bite. First thing that greets you upon entry is the dessert cooler with luscious looking cakes and cheesecakes. Wish we could have had one, but after our lovely lunch, dessert would have been impossible. I ordered the capellini with pomodoro pelato and my friend had the grilled salmon. We both LOVED our meals. The pasta and sauce was perfection. I wish this restaurant was in Dallas, as I'd come back often. I will be back in the area at some point and will make sure to come back to this restaurant. Service was also excellent.
Soooo good! Got the lobster ravioli and the flavors were amazing! This restaurant has been around for so many years and that speaks for itself! Will return soon!
Been going here at least 10 years no complaints. Today's visit was a big disappointment. I ordered my favorite Eggplant Parm. Service fantastic as always and good ready in time. I got it home less than 10 min later. Took paper bag out of plastic bag and spaghetti sauce went all over because the lid was only partially closed to the foil container. There was souch sauce spilled that the paper bag fell apart on the bottom. Eggplant was skimpy. Spaghetti hardly had sauce (not because of the spilled sauce. Half the noodles were obviously never topped with sauce. The bread was cold and although soft, not at all tasty. Hoping this was a one time fail and will certainly give it another try but such a disappointment. Just reheated the spaghetti and while eating it found a small wood or none chip! ?
We ordered 2 baked spaghettis with meatballs. It was $50!!!! They charge $5 per order for meatballs. You get 1 meatball cut in half! You get about a cup of noodles, a cup of meat sauce and a pound of cheese. Not worth it and won’t be back.
