My mother and I decided to have have dessert at Plum for our " Mother Daughter Day", and we were overly impressed!! Yes u must have a vaccine card to dine in but the offer outdoor seating for those of us who dont have one. The staff greeted us with a smile and were courtesy!! Even though there was a wedding reception going there, they still made sure.we were very well taken care of.

I finally had the opportunity to see for myself just how wonderful Plum Southern is. I’d been encouraged to order fish and to save room for dessert, and I complied. I was amused when the waiter told me about the quickly disappearing dessert special before I’d even ordered the day’s special, snapper as my entrée. The fish was fabulous and when I’d finished I learned the special cake was gone. The banana pudding was a tasty concession! I look forward to returning and will consider ordering dessert at the same time as my entree.

Plum provided me with one of the best meals I’ve had in Durham. The dinner menu is both innovative, tactful, respectful, groundbreaking and tasty. My mom wouldn’t stop talking about the squash she had for weeks to come. I think I ordered a heavy pasta dish and it was so creamy so flavorful. It was one of those meals where every scrap of food on the plate is so loaded with flavor that you end up looking like Oliver Twist the way you scoop up every last bit of gruel. The cocktails were fancy tasty and boozy. The coffee was hot. The water was cold.Gorgeous atmosphere with fun decor. There were all these weird cookbooks on the wall it was really a lot to look at.The desert list was also amazing. The best banana pudding I’ve ever had. There is no sign on the outside which adds to the mystique of this place. I also love the name. Plum. Plum. Plum. Very goodBottom line, this place rocks

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The hush puppies were SO GOOD. The catch of the day, snapper, was on the menu and the whole plate was just mouth watering. Nothing was left on the plate. The servers and cook were both so kind and attentive. Do yourself a favor and go.

We really enjoyed our server and our dinner. Both the fish and beef special were quite special.Starter of oysters on the half shell and blackeyed-pea-hushpuppies were warm, soft and with the roumalade, delectable. And Emma's cake for dessert...yum!Quiet spot for foodies:)

Went here to celebrate a birthday-thank you for accommodating us! I preferred the small plates/apps to the mains. The biscuits were quite large and DELICIOUS-worth the price. I also really enjoyed the chicken liver and Brussel sprouts-both familiar items but Plum made them uniquely theirs and flavorful. I ordered the chicken pot pie based on the biscuits, but unfortunately they were underdone as they were on top of the skillet-probably just baked under salamander. There was also chicken skin within the pie that was unpleasant-although a ton of chicken which was nice. I also LOVED my dessert-the chocolate silk pie which had hazelnuts as well. Two margaritas also rounded out a delicious evening! I would come back for the apps and desserts for sure!

What an excellant slice of Durham. The entire brunch crowd was pleased. The eggs on my Croque Madam were perfection, and the brisket in the Huevos rancheros was tender, and the service was friendly and attentive. With perfectly roasted coffee and a touch of Prosecco, I'm committed to try second visit during dinner, but will absolutely be back for brunch.

Fresh take on traditional Southern food. Great for a date or a special occasion. We had a birthday dinner and the staff was very accommodating — even had a custom cake made for a reasonable price, and it was amazing. The hush puppies were delicious, even for those who don’t normally like them; don’t skip the pimento cheese and pickled green beans on that plate. The best entree we tried was definitely the shrimp and grits. We’ll be back.

I've been going to Plum about 2 times a week since they have opened but unfortunately I have moved to Tampa, Florida. I will truly miss Plum restaurant, their food is amazing and their staff are super friendly and 1st class. I will them nothing but the best in the future.

My friend and I really enjoyed our experience at Plum. We came here wanting to try a cool new restaurant in town and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and charming while still modern. We really admired all the quilts on the wall and lovely decor. Our server was very friendly and helped give us suggestions when we couldn't decide what to order. We were grateful for a small menu that made our decision easier and helped assure us that everything would be cooked to order and made with fresh ingredients. We both ordered the shrimp and grits and they were extremely creamy and delicious. My friend kept asking what was in them and the server graciously ran back and asked for the ingredients from the chef. We were informed that there were about seven different cheeses and types of dairy which is why they were so good. We decided to split the peach cobbler which we were warned was very large. It was indeed huge and was absolutely delicious. The only downside of this restaurant is that I think the prices are a little high but I think the food is worth the price if you can afford it. The owner even came over to our table to welcome us and she spent about five minutes talking to us and telling us about the restaurant which we really appreciated.
