Pittsboro location. Outstanding. I wish this was a proper sitdown restaurant rather than a fast food joint and I really wish there was some closer to where I live. I think it was $8.99 for a chicken hibachi dinner that was so hot, fresh, tasty and huge servings. They have choices of sauces you could help yourself to, the white one was amazing. Don’t know what it was but I think I’m addicted. We’ve tried several Japanese restaurants in this area and none of them come even close to New Japan. That Lunch lasted for three meals! I have allergies and sensitivities with food I had no problems whatsoever eating here it was delicious.
Food is good and you get great size portions. The only problem is that you have to check your order before you leave, because if you don't, you will be making a return trip there. For some reason they get my order wrong and I always order the same thing. Hibachi shrimp ? and steak ? with soba noodles ?, No rice. Please tell me why I always get rice ? ? ? ?, and I tell at least 3 times. They repeat the order back to me, Hibachi shrimp and steak with soba noodles and they give me 2 piles of rice about half the time.
Pre cooked food and ordered at 11:09 so they have been open for 9 minutes food was cold and tasteless. Salad rotten . Crab Rangoon’s good but that’s it.
I went here last week Saturday that somebody I know recommended..I got the Hibachi chicken and shrimp with white rice and just broccoli. I thought it tasted pretty good, the yum yum sauce needs to be a little thicker though. I gave it 2 stars because while I thought the food tasted good, I ended up in the ER with an allergic reaction and then went into shock where they had to shoot me with an Epi pen. I am not allergic to seafood, but I do believe they may have used MSG and that caused me to have an allergic reaction...so If you are allergic to MSG stay away
What happened!!! This place was once our “go-to” for a quick Hibachi meal, but it has gotten progressively WORSE each time we go! The quality of the chicken and steak are no longer what is was. The rice and chicken are consistently DRY! The white sauce is watery as though they’re trying to stretch it to make more. There’s an assembly line of people arguing with each other about what to put in what tray, only for the customer to still get the wrong order. It’s disheartening when a person has worked a long day, spends their hard earned money on an expected meal and it’s not what they ordered. So sad.
The prices and portion sizes make me happy! Nice interior also. Only issue is that no one answers the phone…. Like ever, at all. The only way to place an order is to walk inside & wait which isn’t convenient.
Incompetent teenagers as main staff. This place was great when it first opened but clearly management does not care whatsoever about quality of service or food.
I was not as impressed with this Hibachi experience. The steak was mostly fat and the chicken and fried rice were both dry. The rice was also lacking flavor. Considering the price my daughter paid for our meal; I expected the quality to be much better than it was.
These people have been getting worse and worse! Their white sauce is so watery it barely has a taste at all! They literally mass produce the food and the finished product shows the tasteless and under/overcooked food that they serve to be dangerous to attempt to consume! Especially when they are offering seafood, pork, beef and chicken ??! Do not eat at this disgusting establishment!
Cooked to order hibachi. Interior is nicely kept if dining in. Pretty standard for the cuisine and pricing is reasonable.
