food was outstanding and definitely will be coming back again. everything was good hot and fresh
Father’s Day dinner was great. Good food, really enjoyed the patio, service was good. The only complaint is the automatic gratuity added to the bill. It’s an infuriating practice. The only time it’s even remotely appropriate is with large disjointed parties which we were not. And if you insist on the practice, at least make it clear to people. It’s not even obvious on the bill unless you study it. Then the hand you the cc reader with options to add a gratuity, again not making it clear you’ve already tipped.I waited tables in my 20s. I know quality service that’s worthy of 20, 30, 40%. But adding it automatically is disrespectful, presumptuous, entitled, and it this case, dishonest. It’s enough to keep us away in the future. If you can’t be respectful and honest with patrons, it’s a really big deal to many of us.
Since we moved to Durham the pandemic brought our dining out to a halt until we began to find restaurants with outdoor dining. We love the Nantucket Grill in Durham as it has a large patio with umbrellas and a covered section. The food is excellent and the servers have been uniformly very good. Our favorite lunch is the shrimp po'boy for me and the portobello mushroom sandwich for my husband. We enjoyed the weekend lobster dinner special as takeout one time and loved it.
I took my Mother to Nantucket for mother's day. I have eaten here many times but they stepped the game way up for mother's day. We are in an error of slow service due to staff shortage. Well evidently its not affecting Nantucket grill haha service was fast excellent and the food omg was amazing. I had the herb roasted chicken.
Pre pandemic this place was very very good. 5 of us went to dinner here at my request to celebrate a friends birthday. She and another person ordered the crab cakes which were $25 a plate. I ordered shrimp skewers, others ordered steak kabobs and finally a hamburger plate. We also had cocktails and appetizers. My shrimp were also about $24 were very tiny. there were 6 shrimp and some flavorless rice pilaf and mixed veges. . I noticed the crab cakes came with asparagus which were the inedible super gigantic ones and not the tiny edible ones. I noticed neither person eating ANY of their crab cakes. So I tasted one. I have never tasted a crab cake so overly fishy and rancid. They were literally disgusting and inedible. So i told the waitress who said oh, I’m sorry. So the birthday girl ordered a slice of cake. On Tuesday’s the cake is usually free..but the cake is really wonderful (or at least it used to be) The waitress came back and said she told the manager who agreed to take the “cakes” off the bill. The “manager” never came to the table. I thanked her and said that was the right thing to do. We 4 split up the bill. We each tipped the waitress 30% for “being so generously fair ! After we paid and we’re leaving, my friend showed me their receipt. The slice of birthday cake” was was taken off their bill, and not the crab cakes. I was absolutely livid at the implied lie because only 1 slice of bday cake was ordered, and “cakes” were understood to be the crab cakes by all. But being the very quiet type who won’t ever complain, even though they were angry, they asked me not to say anything, as it was already done. I will never patronize this restaurant again.
Wonderful location for sitting outside and enjoying wine on the patio. Great food selection, and attentive staff. The cake is a must try, clam chowder and nachos were also great
Always my go to!! The best menu items are the Nachos and the Seafood Pasta, always on point and generous portions, I get these every time I go! And of course you can’t go wrong with any flavor cake they have, to die for!!!
Very delicious. Accommodating wait staff. Lots of dessert and drink options. I’ll come back for sure. Really enjoyed it.
Great service, food, cocktails & deserts!! Have enjoyed dining there for 12 years now. Moved from the area unfortunately but it’s worth the drive when you can. Strawberry shortcake
