Excellent service as usual here. We went after DPAC performance and were one of the first tables seated but the restaurant filled up shortly after that. Our meals were brought very quickly but we did not feel rushed. The salmon, shrimp/calamari ceviche, pork ribs, and risotto were enjoyed by all.

Nana's Steak House is a premier destination in Durham NC for those looking for outstanding filet mignon, New York strip, ribeye and speacialty steaks. I found the strip to be outstanding and a good value for $32. They did not offer any optional sauce to accompany the strip; a Bernaise would have been a nice addition. On the other hand, I found the grilled asparagus to be stringy and not very edible for around $12. The Caesar side salad was nicely done, although it was missing some usual ingredients (e.g. anchoves). While our dinner was at 7PM, we were not rushed, and had a pleasant evening through 10:30 PM.
Have always liked our previous experiences until the last two times which were disappointing. For the cost of the meal, we expect something incredibly memorable and delicious but we found things over salted (potatoes almost not edible due to salt) and vegetables just bland and unseasoned. The filet had a slight barbecue flavor as if it had been cooked on a grill from which some other seasoning was used for a different item. It was not this way prior to COVID so unfortunately likely not returning for a while.
Nanasteak is a Durham classic! Owners Graham and Brad make sure you feel like you are a special guest. We love them, the incredibly delicious food, and service that is always top notch! We always enjoy pre-theatre meals there before DPAC, but we also love going for âdate nights â and to take special friends there.
Packed venue with pre theater diners, our wait was short but sat at the bar. Ordered and app then a few minutes later the main which came first. The bartender returned the main to the kitchen and returned with the app. When the main came he comped the food which was not necessary!! We will be back!
Excellent food and service, as always. A great place for dinner anytime, but especially when seeing a show at DPAC.
My girlfriend and I always dine here before our DPAC show. Last night we split the heirloom salad and the smash burger. It was excellent.

The Host was not very friendly when we first arrived. We were unable to sit in the bar area due to capacity and he did not offer a table/reservation in the main dining room. We got a cocktail elsewhere and made an online reservation ourselves and only waited 20-25 minutes.
