We had a very enjoyable pre-DPAC show dinner here. My wife and I shared the dishes and all were very good. We had the Arancini, smoked mozzarella, stracchino, parmigiano, tomato sauce appetizer which was delicious. Our primi, Rigatoni alla Norma, was very tasty, particularly the sauce. For secondo we had the hearth roasted chicken, charred vegetables, and salsa verde which was not as flavorful as we would have liked. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was wonderful. The service was very good and the restaurant has a pleasant trattoria atmosphere. Overall, the dinning was very, very, good – just not outstanding. If I could have rated it 4 ½ stars I would have. We will return.
The pasta dishes are really amazing. Nothing could beat the fresh flavors of each dish. It really feels that every dish was made with love. We had the Tagliatelle Al Ragu, Cacio E Pepe, and the octopus antipasti. All of them were really good, the octopus was delicious! I must say, another unexpected highlight was the delicious dessert! (Picture). It was a great experience, especially because the staff was super friendly.
I don’t usually give 3 stars, but this restaurant kind of disappointed me. I’ve heard pretty good things about mother and sons, so I thought I would give it a try.The pastas were alight, I thought the little spiral noodles tasted a tad bit tuff. The chicken was pretty good nothing spectacular. The appetizer we got was cooked perfectly.Service was alright I could tell he was busy.Overall seems a little to pricy for what they’re charging.
Food and service were both fantastic (our sever's name was Noah). Pastas were cooked well and the flavors were great. The octopus appetizer was good as well. The best Italian food I've had at this price point!
First time eating at Mothers & Sons. Cocktails were terrific. Appetizers were a little bland. Entrees were flavorful, but just didn't knock our socks off as we had anticipated based on recommendations from friends. Friendly staff and a nice environment.
If I could give this restaurant a NEGATIVE 10 I would. The hostess (short, pale lady with long black hair) was EXTREMELY rude for no reason. I simply wanted a table and she very rudely said that I could not because I needed a reservation. I completely understood that and would have gladly taken a seat at the bar had she not spoke to me the way she did. Very unprofessional! Definitely not a place to spend you hard earned money at.
Everything we ate was delicious!! From the baratta, cavatelli, squid ink, and cacio e Pepe. Everything was 10/10 and we can’t wait to eat here again!
We visited by recommendation of multiple friends and it was one of the most memorable meals that we’ve ever had. Two of us shared multiple plates - burrata and wood fired toasted bread, Arancini, the bucatini and the radiatore primo, followed by the budino and zeppoli for dessert. The antipasti and primi are on the smaller side but this is perfect for trying multiple dishes. And with three glasses of wine. We got out at a reasonable price for this many dishes and drinks. Our server, Pietro, was so great. He knew the menu very well and how to explain things easily for us. His suggestions were great, but also easily accommodated us for our different plans based on how hungry we were feeling - never rushing us, simply allowing us to relax and enjoy.Every single item that I ate was well balanced and delicious- forcing me to stop and savor each bite. We didn’t want this meal to end and the only reason it did is because we physically could not eat any more food. Highly recommend and will be making our favorite list - favorite Italian and favorite restaurant in the Triangle list.
Reservations were hard to get at a decent time a week out. Now I know why! The food and dining experience was excellent. We were celebrating a 40th bday and Mother's has been on my list a year or so... so 8 p.m. was booked. We had gnocchi, pork cheek on polenta, Arancini and lemon shrimp. The flavor combinations were perfectly matched. It was all so delicious! They were busy. But our server was very good and made sure we were taken care of. I will definitely be going for another visit and taking the hubbie.
This place is absolutely divine. The plates are small so you can order many different things. The squid ink pasta is really salty but great, and all of their desserts are absolutely amazing. The pasta dishes were very similar to the food I had in Naples and Florence so it’s definitely authentic Italian.
