1st Time Visit! Delicious Food! Friendly and courteous staff! Loved the casual, warm atmosphere. Will return very soon!!!
This was our 2nd time there! Every time we have to go to Duke. We come here to eat! Food is delicious!
Pulled pork sandwich pork was okay. Beans and coleslaw are good. Potato salad average.Cornbread was burnt and hard as a rock and they don't have hush puppies.Sauce was passable to much ketchup in it.Nowhere near as good as Bullocks barbecue in Durham!
Food is lip smacking delicious! Love the ribs, the smoked wings and all the sides. The potatoes casserole is so good. I really miss the catfish it’s no longer on the menu. If you haven’t been you’re missing out!
I went to Moe's Original BBQ in Durham. The place was empty on the inside, and only two people sitting outside. When I asked the cashier why they were empty, he replied that everyone was going to the restaurant next door, which specializes in French Cuisine. The cashier immediately told they were out of Mac n cheese. No problem, I ordered a ribs plate with potato salad, and baked beans, and it came with corn bread. Th corn bread was slightly over cooked but edible. The baked beans came straight out the can. Nothing special about them, and the potato salad had some strange starchy texture, and somewhat dry and vinegary.. The ribs were naked, but they were meaty and cooked to perfection. They gave you a vinegar based sauce, which I did not care for, but when I added my own sauce, that improved the taste. I'm not sure Moe's is in the optimal location. With a few minor changes to the food, they would be a strong 4 1/2.
The wings were AMAZING!! Big, meant, juicy, and most of all flavorful!! Best smoked wings so far in Durham, NC!!
Great food, different entrée and side options every day of the week.
Really impressed! The meat was tender and flavorful and the slaw/slaw were familiar... but also had their own twists. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had! So glad we stopped in.
Back on 9th St for the first time in 13 years. Lots of solid choices for dining. So glad we chose Moe's! Meats usually steal the show at barbecue joints, and the pulled pork did not disappoint. What put this meal on the 5-star list for us were the sides--a unique slaw that provided the perfect palate balance, a squash casserole to die for, beans with just enough sweet and a hot and gooey mac n cheese. With a friendly, attentive staff and a cold Carolina Amber to top it off, couldn't have found a better spot on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
We were visiting Duke Gardens and wanted some barbecue close by. We checked this place out because it was only 6 minutes away. The place looked kind of rough on the outside however it had good reviews. The ordered the full each of ribs with two sides and then added on the 3 ounce meat variations and went with two chicken, 2 pulled pulled pork and one turkey. The total bill was only about $55 and it was some of the best barbecue in the whole Raleigh area.
