Hidden BBQ gem in Durham!!! Their brisket reminded me of some of the best BBQ I had in Texas, and their pulled pork paid homage to the Carolina style without being dry or too vinegar forward. Their Mac is TO DIE FOR, and the slaw brought a crisp refreshing acidity to cut through the richness of the meat. Good portions, friendly employees, amazing food.My only complaint, they ran out of ribs 2hrs after opening (literally the customer in front of me got the last portion…not sure if they were waiting for more to finish smoking and put them on the line once I left).I’ll definitely be back to Lawrence. The food, drinks, and atmosphere could get me to stay at the Boxyard all day!
Folks, If you haven’t tried this spot yet you owe yourself and your tastebuds a huge favor!! Everything on the menu is absolutely fabulous… Best q place around… highly recommend!!

Wow their bbq is amazing! The brisket just falls apart and their vinegar bbq sauce is delicious. The baked beans also have a vinegary taste which I loved. What’s also unique about this place is it’s located in Boxyard RTP, a food hall style place made of shipping containers! I will definitely be going again to try their birria tacos they have on the weekends!
Some of these reviews say this place has bad brisket/fries/bad value etc. they couldn’t be more wrong. Fresh smoked Texas style brisket, THE BEST DANG FRIED OYSTER SANDWICH IVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! You can’t put the fries down. Absolutely incredible, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back A+
my husband loves their pulled pork, I'm not really a meat eater but I drive out of my way to order fat boy Brussels and their voodoo Mac and cheese. ? ?I always double my order so I don't have to drive the 45 minutes twice a week! ?
My family comes here frequently and we are never let down. Everything from the meats to the sauces are always full of flavor. The brisket is unlike anything we’ve had before - consistent, juicy and full of bark and flavor. The sides are the best around with our favorite being a tie between macaroni and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. Bring your family for great food and a fantastic atmosphere for everyone.
Great brisket, loved the tallow toasted brioche bun on my brisket sandwich. Can't beat the cheerwine bbq sauce & the mustard one they had was amazing as well. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu out!
I've been here multiple times now, and I still can't wait to go back. Hands down the best BBQ I've had in NC, and I say this as an NC native growing up with family pig pickin's and side of the road BBQ joints.The Brisket melts in your mouth. The pulled pork is perfectly cooked, seasoned, and not overly sauced. Best smoked wings I've ever had. Even the broccoli cesar salad is a top tier side.Any time people come from out of state, or even out of Raleigh, I will take them to Lawrence BBQ.
