I went here for the first time with friends. Couple things:- we went for lunch and pre booked a table for 1 pm. They did call me and informed that they don’t have high chair for babies, so i say that’s nice of them to inform before. Thank you!- the location was little hard to find for us and the friends we were meeting and hence we got late. The person who attended was not very happy about it and told that he thought we cancelled but that didn’t affect the service.Started the lunch with Mango lassi(was very good), and some cocktails (also good). We chose for veg and non veg platter for 19 $ each and it included one drink from the list mentioned at top of the menu. My Mango lassi was covered in 19$. I couldn’t finish and hence boxed the food. My friends tried their Mysore masala dosa and also said that it is delicious. Overall the ambience is very good, there is outdoor seating, food is good too. It was different experience from other Indian restaurants that we have tried.
One of the absolute hidden gems of Durham. Amazingly good prices ($15 for a top-end entree as of April 2022); but service, quality, and an attention from the staff worthy of a restaurant with 4x the prices. I’m always blown away when I come here, and it’s a small tragedy that this restaurant is hidden in an out-of-the-way spot; otherwise, I’m certain it would be difficult to get a table on any evening. I highly recommend this amazing spot to anyone looking for a pleasant and delicious meal.
The curries were delicious! We had goat, chicken, and brussel sprout-potato. There are a large number of vegan options. The roasted cauliflower appetizer was a real treat - but beware, flavor is the focus not nutrition. It is in a mostly spicy, somewhat sweet, deep red sauce. They also make genuine, simmered spices chai. I will certainly be going back.
We had a take out order of tandoori chicken and chettinad curry, both tasted delicious, the spice level was just right ?. (I am not sure if that flower is necessary to augment the taste of their well cooked, wonderful chicken).
Beautiful space, close to good parking, walking distance to lots of other cool attractions. I’m a super wimp when it comes to spice, but it was worth it for the wonderful flavors in the food! The staff was very kind and attentive, we made a reservation for right when they opened and our food was out quickly and piping hot! They had a nice variety in their menu, especially the vegetarian options.
Amazing Indian cuisine in Durham. Everything was high quality and exceptionally seasoned. Samosa’s and coconut curry with scallops were the winners tonight. Great date night vibe with exceptional service hawking around to ensure no one lacks for anything.
Understated, beautifully decorated Indian restaurant in downtown Durham. The ? paneer was excellent and unusual - with tasty bits of the mango skin. We liked the dosa, too. They were good about asking about spice levels.
I had the mixed grill minus shrimp due to allergies. Food is amazing as is service! Fresh food! Plated beautifully! Authentic Indian Cuisine! Heck I may go back tomorrow!
All of the food we ordered had remarkable flavors and was so fresh! The monsoon cauliflower appetizer was my favorite and really could have been a whole meal in itself. Don’t knock fries at an Indian restaurant before you try these because they were also fantastic! For entrees I highly recommend the tikka masala and palak paneer (spinach / cheese). And don’t forget the naan :)
Indian Monsoon welcomes with a good ambiance and host. We ordered chicken samosa, monsoon cauliflower, chicken kebab, lobster pepper masala, chicken rogen josh. Monsoon cauliflower was little mushy but we enjoyed the unique fusion flavor of other dishes. For drinks we had ordered jal jeera margarita and GOC margarita which tasted ok. Extra points for their presentation
