This place is as advertised, a fish boil with a good atmosphere and fine drinks. We had great service from Destiny. She was on top of everything! The food beat my expectations -- well cooked and great flavor. Crab bites were tasty, my shrimp/crab boil with potatoes, sausage and corn was pretty darn good. We went on a Thursday night so it was a slow night, but this place deserves a bigger crowd. Clean, tasty, comfortable and fun for families. What more could you ask for?

I rate this #1 seafood in Durham. The food was very good. Service was great too, friendly.

To expensive for what I received on my very FIRST visit. Something like $50 or more for 1 person. The cashier was amazing. She started explaining how the menu worked for a takeout order then her manager or supervisor interrupted her moment by talking over her as if to take over. She understood my order and had repeated it back correctly and started ringing me up but after the manager interrupted somehow when I got home my order was incorrect. That was not only rude of him, It cost me a loss of some of my order that I indeed still paid for. I was left disappointed. But to be completely honest I could have used that money to purchase my own food from the grocery store and done a better job at home myself. Thanks to your Manager Guy I won't be back with family nor recommend this place to others. EDIT: It's been almost 2weeks since this visit. The receipt went in the trash since I hadn't planned on returning or pursuing a correction. Just cut my loss. The experience was a complete turn off. Besides, I miss TGI Fridays at that location anyway. It was way better. Sorry

I was visiting family in Durham, North Carolina when I went to this restaurant for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were phenomenal. I want to give a shout out to Nina who served us the food. She was professional and friendly. And her presentation of my meal was like a reveal party. It made me want the food even more! I will definitely go there again for great food at a reasonable price along with good service!

Today was my first time sitting inside to eat. I'm going to drop a name that everyone must be aware of; Nikki. This young woman was refreshing, personable, and a grand delight. She was patient with our questions. She struck a fine balance between giving us space but being available when we needed anything. Very energetic. Her food recommendations really came through clutch for us not really knowing the menu.

Corn was frozen niblets. Only one mini crab cluster, the shrimp were cold and the potatoes had no flavor. This was actually the worst boil I have ever had.

Great service! Brandi was very friendly! Food was delicious!!

As I always do when I want to visit a new place to eat, I took it upon myself to review the comments of Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood (that's why it's always useful to leave a comment ?). I saw that it was very well qualified and the photos looked very appealing. Upon arrival, the place was almost empty, and the hostess did not seem very cheerful, but she was friendly. Upon reaching the table, our waiter, named Nikko, introduced himself. We told him that it was our first time in the place and he explained the menu very well. We ordered a couple of entrees and our drinks. But what was different was when the food arrived. It was in a large bag that Nikko shook before opening it. He gave us some bibs and plastic gloves and optional cutlery (that already sounded interesting?). We ordered some seafood in a cajun sauce, what a DELICIOUS thing!!! ?? and the adventure continued as we put our hands in the bag and pulled out different types of seafood. I don't even want to say how we ended up!!?? logically half of our face had cajun sauce and we were licking our fingers (from the plastic glove ?). It was quite a culinary adventure. Without a doubt this will be the first of many visits to Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood!!! Many thanks to those who take a minute to leave a rating of places and give others the opportunity to meet and enjoy them ?.

Waitress was nice, restrooms clean, BUT I ordered scallops, before I ordered I asked were they REAL or medallions. Waitress said that they were sea scallops, they were not a real sea scallop they were a poor quality medallion.

Went to have dinner Super Bowl Sunday, it wasn’t packed, greeted warmly without a reservation. Seated at table and Melissa greeted us and took our drink orders. Drinks arrived and we ordered. Food arrived shortly thereafter. Surprise it was delicious and generous. Yummy chowder, delicious Caesar salad, coconut shrimp sweet and scrumptious, fish n fries finger licking good, and the calamari was spot on tender and ridiculously great. Well done. I will be back for more. Thanks.
