Long established BBQ place with all the sides. Flavorful, moist, and the sauce is great. They also offer some surprising iptuon like the waygu burger. Great place, authentic southern BBQ, and wonder people.

Great old school NC pulled pork BBQ!. Not fatty or dry, just right. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Will most definitely go back.

Found this place a few years back while out on a ride, every single experience I’ve had with them has been 100% perfect! Food is always amazing right along side with service! Hands down my favorite place to grab lunch!

A must stop for North Carolina BBQ in Durham. Get the pulled pork, with sides, all are great, and sit a while. I'm definitely coming back for the amazing food and hospitality!

Sorry, no picture, I had nearly cleared my plate before I thought of it. This place is a hole in the wall, in the best sense of the term. If a small side of the road, family run BBQ Joint is your thing, then you need to check out Byrd's BBQ.The pork was pulled, not chopped. I prefer pulled pork, it is my opinion pulled pork is harder to execute well than chopped. The pork was clean, had a great flavor with good smoke, seasoning, and a nice chew.I also ordered a rib to try, it was too was excellent. Good smoke, tender but not overcooked, and a nice subtle amount of sauce. Just enough sauce to make me use a napkin, but not covering up the meat by drenching in sauce. Both my wife and I agreed, the collards were some of the best we have had.If you happen to be in the Raleigh / Durham area and are looking for a good "Mom and Pop" BBQ Joint, check out Byrd's BBQ.

The service was good but, the portions for the price was a joke. It was a to go order so when I opened it I literally laughed. The tea was good, okra good, and hush puppies. The collards taste like Gloria greens out of a can, mash potatoes taste like instant potatoes, and the brisket was tender but no flavor. I was not thrilled with this plate. This was first and last time going.

Enjoyed my tea and fried baloney sandwich!

Best BBQ I've had since Lexington BBQ Festival. Very nice people and restaurant.

This was my first visit and let me just say, they did NOT disappoint! My food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Definitely worth a return trip!

Okay guys, so I gotta tell you about this hidden gem. This one you are going to want to try. The first time I tried this place I had some family over and they wanted something to eat. This place was close by so very convenient. Blew us away. The menu had too many things we wanted to try. We spent just a little more than expected so we were skeptic at first after having being let down by a couple of BBQ places in Durham already. But this one . . . Oh this was the one! I think they had like a peach flavored rib sauce that day, no complaints on the ribs! NONE. I haven't stopped going to the place since. It has a mom and pop feel to it where everybody knows your name, even if they don't. The owner she's great, her mom, shes great, the guys in the back amazing! Always smiling and having a great time cooking. I will let you know this place will run out of food so get it while you can! The mornings are for breackfast, afternoons are for lunch and stock up on the tea, I usually get a couple of gallons to hold me over. This ain't your average McDonald's tea, no sir this is your southern sweet tea made just right! The hours are from earlier morn, to the afternoon, so you can get breakfast on the way to work and stop here for lunch, no dinner hours at this time. On a sidenote, everyone goes here so whatever you need you will find someone that can help you with it here shoutout to Kris at GT Fencing ?. The conclusion is this, go here period.
