Thank you Bull and Bean. I'd never eaten at this restaurant and blindly chose it based on the good reviews. Upon calling to make my reservation for a party of 15 for brunch, I was even more confident as the employee assisting me was so kind and accommodating.#1: I highly recommend this place for large groups because each person orders and pays for their own food. No worrying about splitting checks.#2: The menu was VERY friendly for a wide range of dietary limitations and preferences.#3: The food is DELICIOUS! We had zero complaints.#4: The staff is nice and professional and the service was prompt.I highly recommend the Bull and Bean.
Update: I’ve changed my review from 4 stars to 2 stars because the staff barely has personality anymore; the people in the front are always chatting so loudly to the kitchen crew in the back. The portion size of the only dish I get there has shrunken in size and the ratios are all off now. When it was take-out only during the first months of the pandemic, they messed up my order three out of three times. I finally contacted the manager and she apologized profusely and said they would deliver me anything I wanted. I had told her about the problems above, but two years later they’re still happening. The restaurant was the first place that I deemed as my go-to when I was new to the area back in 2017, and I think that’s why I find myself going back, like some ex-boyfriend that’s not really good for me.
The atmosphere is very comforting and refreshing. The menu compliments this very well and has vegan and gluten free options. They were very compliant with allergy restrictions and complex orders. The only downside was that they use oil instead of butter for cooking eggs and whatnot, but it may be possible to request otherwise.
In terms of quality and portion, it was an excellent experience. I ordered hushbrowns loaded with extra beef brisket, avocado, and black beans, and French toast which were delicious. The lemon and strawberry mimosa was really wonderful! If you come with a large group, however, there will be insufficient seating. You'll have to wait in line for orders and pour your coffee, but the orders will arrive at your desk in a moment.
Yummy food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Will be going back!
I have given two stars for the delicious bagel, but $6.75 for a toasted bagel with an egg? You could never in a million years justify charging almost $7.00 for one bagel and an egg, and that’s without tax. That’s taking inflation to a whole new and much worse level. My goodness!
The “Famous Loaded Hashbrowns” with brisket is probably my favorite brunch/breakfast dish in the area. I also love their seasonal coffee drinks, ie: the eggnog latte ?
I’m astounded that they managed to put so many ingredients together and produce ZERO FLAVOR. The NY bagel was all one mushy texture with no flavor at all, you could barely even taste red onion and the salmon had no smoked flavor it just tasted like gloopy water. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich had a very mild sausage flavor and everything was over cooked. The eggs were rubbery and overdone, the bread was burnt, and the sausage was charred.
This is place is fixed up really cute, with bead board below, floral white and blue wallpaper above. There are tables and benches for inside seating, and even coordinating pillows available.I ended up ordering a breakfast burrito, which was disappointing but at least filling. Disappointing because I was expecting more of a spicy flavor. There was salsa served in a tiny cup with the burrito, but again no spice. Simply chopped onions and tomatoes from what I could tell. It was described as having homemade sausage in it, but I had nearly eaten half before finding my first chunk of meat. One of my friends ordered a shrimp and grits. She seemed satisfied, but I didn't quiz her. Another friend ordered a Reuben, which was pretty good but she said it had thousand island dressing rather than Russian dressing. They got coconut cake, which I tasted. It was good, seemed homemade, and had cream cheese. It would have been softer if it had not just come from the refrigerator, but, oh well. The bread here comes from Guglhupf, so I imagine sandwiches are a better choice than breakfast here, since at least the bread will be good. They serve coffee and cookies and various desserts, which looked tasty. I would imagine this is more of a coffee and dessert place than a place for a meal. Sandwiches are probably a fairly good choice here. There is really no service provided other than bringing food to the table. We had a good time, but I was underwhelmed.
I googled a breakfast place that has breakfast all day and it sent me to Bull and Bean. I was immediately impressed with the staff as they were friendly and greeted me and directed me to their menu. I was impressed with their menu as well and ended up ordering their loaded hash browns with soft scrambled eggs instead of Sunny side up and added avocado on the top and had it with the barbecue brisket. The meal was amazing. The chefs knew how to cook my eggs and everything. I definitely recommend this place. They even have dinners for two in their cooler that you can take home and heat up in the oven. Those dinners also sounded amazing.
