Recently hosted an oversea's friend in this restaurant and we had a great time.

Service was excellent, cute little restaurant. The food? Eh. Steamed mussels appetizer was mushy, certainly not fresh, probably frozen mussels. Busted Milanese— steak was tough and overcooked. Calamari appetizer was good. Chicken and steak fajitas— just OK, nothing special. Disappointed as we expected better food. Oh well.
We dined here on a Saturday afternoon (04Jun22) after seeing Hamilton at DPAC. It was very slow at the time we arrived. Since we had reservations, there was no wait and we were seated outside very quickly. Outdoor seating is on the sidewalk, which can be very busy in this location and there was no shade cover or umbrellas, so it was pretty hot but manageable. Our server was very nice. She took our drink orders and food orders pretty quickly. The appetizer was tasty (queso dip), but our entrees were not what we were expecting. I had the fajitas with the steak, shrimp, and chicken, with rice and beans, and my spouse had the seafood paella. The shrimp in my dish had a funny taste, very 'fishy' as if they weren't fresh, so I didn't eat them and the rest of the dish was bland. My spouse indicated their paella had no seasoning/was bland as well. We had dined there before a few years ago and were underwhelmed but decided to give it another try. Although the staff is very nice and the facilities are immaculate, we don't think we'll visit again.
Food was really tasty. Service was great. Food came out fast.

Great family restaurant on 9th St in Durham. The chips and salsa may have been the best I’ve had…barely left room for my tacos. Tried three different proteins and couldn’t decide which was the best. And the Platanos Fritos was as good as advertised!Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Cannot wait to go back on my next trip to Durham.
