Oh man, this place is so good! We got jerk chicken, oxtails, rice and peas, cabbage, and callaloo greens tonight and it was legit the best meal I’ve had in months. Seasoning was perfect, super flavorful and I loved that they leave the thyme sprigs in everything. The owners are super nice too! Will definitely be back.

Inaccurate order after waiting 30 minutes for food. Visited today at Central Park. Discovered we were missing sides when we got home. The food we did receive was underwhelming as well. The Jerk chicken was dry, and the rice and peas were mushy. First and last visit. I’ll never stray from Lees Kitchen again.

Everything cooked perfectly, and super authentic

NOT just talking when I say this is the best Jamaican food in the city thus far hands down!!! I’ve been to nearly every Jamaican restaurant/truck here in Durham and Amagees has my top spot. I had a special plate made with a combination of curry shrimp and curry chicken, rice & peas, cabbage,& plantain. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT!!!

The Best Jamaican food that I have taste in durham.

... I was smoking a cigarette and looking for a restaurant when I heard "Jamaican Food"...A great friend of mine - a Kingston old-timer - used to bring me a beef patty and coco bread when I would visit; it was a simple, delicious meal that I have loved from the first bite. 10 years later, I stopped at Ama'Gees just by chance. Honestly, the best patty I've had; rich with a flaky exterior. The coco bread was soft and sweet. The Jerk Chicken was spicy, juicy, and delicious, especially coupled with rice, cabbage, and those delicately sweet fried plantains. Don't get me started on the Curry Shrimp. I could live happily for a month on nothing but coco bread dunked in curry... the shrimp is like a bonus, and cooked perfectly. The staff is so friendly and the prices are quite reasonable. If you happen upon this gem, don't think twice... You won't be disappointed.Thank you, Ama'Gees, for a delicious meal!

I can’t say enough great things about Ama’Gees! We love to frequent this food truck; Quality Jamaican food is difficult to come by in Durham and Ama’Gees absolutely delivers. In addition to the classics you may want (like beef Patties and jerk chicken), they also offer plenty of options for vegetarians or vegans. For peanut allergy sufferers they are conscientious about this and everything is safe to eat. The food is always flavorful and everyone who works there is great to interact with. Plus they are very communicative on their socials about where the truck is or if something comes up and they have to close early. Highly recommend you give it a try!

I almost don’t want to tell y’all how good this food was because I don’t want to have to fight a long line but MAN was this delicious! Reminded me of being back in NY. Being able to get really good Jamaican food late night is a GRAND LUXURY. The oxtails & rice and peas were perfect, the curry chicken patty and the coco bread were a great addition and you can’t forget the champagne cola. Great food, quick service, friendly staff; will definitely be going back this week.

Always great! Friendly service and always around!

Experienced this food truck yesterday at a winery event. The food was so good I forgot to take a pic! Especially delicious was the curry shrimp and the Jamaican patties - good Lordt! The jerk chicken was wonderful and their maduros were amazing!! The staff was lovely also. Highly recommend if you see them out!! ???
