Food was amazing, fantastic cocktails, super knowledgeable staff, and gorgeous inside and in the alley dining. Parking deck next door makes it very easy to get to. Can't wait to come back!
I can see why this place has won a James Beard award. It was great! The food certainly surpassed my expectations and Lily, who waited on us could have been better. For once, I believe that five stars weren't enough.
My favorite bite: The Alley 26 burger (8oz. Ground Chuck & Brisket, Black Truffle Cheddar, Bourbon-Bacon Jam, Chipotle Aioli, Arugula, Potato Roll, House Cut Fries). The News and Observer "Burger Bracket" brought me here.What to know for next time: There's a smaller version of the Alley 26 burger -- same deliciousness!Pro tip: Make a reservation online, tell the server if you're celebrating a special occasion. You get a special treat from the bar!What gave me pause: Nothing! The burger was phenomenal!
My husband and I went here for an impromptu date night after another COVID spike, not to mention the many previous visits pre-demic times, while living at Liberty Warehouse Apts. and it never fails us.We’ve sat both inside and outside, both options come with charm and quirk.1. Please ensure you bring your proof of vaccination.2. Outside patio is ????? when the weather is pleasant, opt for the outdoor “alley”. Being a former service industry employee I know folks think patio service will be mediocre at best, but not once has that been the case.3. Inside always feels like a familiar feel. Dim lighting, bar seating and dining room, it just fits like your favorite shoe.This is a great spot for a small group or a couple’s outing but check online for open reservations if it’s a Friday-Sunday as seating fills up quick.Cheers.
I love their well-stocked bar (that their spirits list contains tasting notes is pure genius!) I am no fan of their food, though—it all comes at a dear price for what is, frankly, mediocre.
