Great local dive with chilli dogs and pool table.
Great little dump dirty dive with a downstairs out back. Perfect for some last call action.
I’m partial to calling the bar closest to my house “the best bar,” but in Accordion Club’s case, that proximity is incidental. It really is a great dive bar: cheap drinks, fun people, great back/outdoor space, and hot dogs. To go beer fridge, and some take and bake food items also a nice thing to grab on your way out. Burritos on Sundays are great too.
Awful, just awful. Awful vibe, awful people, absolutely disgusting food, awful music. Did I mention it was awful? Never will I ever come back to this awful place and neither should you. A more pleasant experience would be to drink flat malt liquor behind a dumpster in an alley on a cold winters night. You'd probably find more interesting people to talk to there. Did I mention this place was awful? To reiterate my point, yuck!
Nice selection of beers, great ambience, although could do with more cocktails.
Love the back patio, and the sunday morning hatch burritos are a weekend staple
Convenient to Old North Durham, Old Five Points; W. Geer, North, & Foster Sts. Beer, wine, & liquor. Small inside, but there's additional space outside & in back. Pool table & a video game (or 2?). Lotta industry people. Inexpensive and easy to drop in. Adjacent parking lot is often full: plan around that. This business is adjacent to a residential area, so try not to be a jerk; let people chill. Mostly bar seating, but a few bar tables. *Very* light food. There's a city park behind the building and parking lot. Tattoo parlor and beer/wine store/bar in same building. Convenient to Hutchins Garage (pizza/drinks). Tip your bartender, please. Near Northstar & TROSA's ex-school building. Wear a mask until you need to open your mouth.
Best dive bar in Durham right now. Good atmosphere if you are looking for relaxing and authentic (vs pricey and showy). Don't miss the outside tables when the weather is suitable. If you can be there at sundown, pay attention to the massive chimney swift (bird) colony that comes out en masse to feed.
Cold beer, laid back vibes, personable bar tender....what more can you ask for in a neighborhood watering hole!
If you love mom's creations, you have to come here and try the Frito bag selections! Love, love love this place. There's an outside courtyard behind the bar area where you can bring your dog and hang out also.
