The food was excellent burn ends and a full rack of ribs.
Excellent food and service.
When we got there the line was almost out the door. It didn’t take too long until we put our order in. We were fortunate to get a table inside. We got the half ribs (meaty) with collards, mac and cheese and baked beans. They had sauces at the table. There was like a sweet bbq, vinegary, spicy and a honey mustard if I’m not mistaken. It was ALL delicious. Cornbread was standard. To drink I tried the watermelon black tea and it was good. My other family members had strawberry lemonade. We saw many door dash orders and others picking up to go. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. You have to try this place!Oh and the brisket and burnt ends were out when we were there after 6pm on a Saturday so if you’re looking forward to that come early. We were coming for the ribs. But maybe this would be helpful for some of you especially if you don’t live close.
Tonight, I was pleasantly disappointed...I went to try this new restaurant called The Smoke Pit for the express purpose of getting Brisket. Well, I get there, just as they run out of said brisket which caused significant disappointment to creep in. But I pressed forward and chose to go with the half rack of ribs and Holy canoli! Best ribs I've ever had! Sides were amazing too. Deviled egg potato salad and smoked pork bbq beans! Also, staff were top notch, fast and friendly!Definitely a great start to a long weekendUPDATED: Made it back to try the brisket and it was AMAZING! Definitely understand why it sold out my previous visit.
Best BBQ!! Pulled chicken is my fav, ribs are delish, sides are soo good- can't go wrong going here for bbq! This is the place we bring all our family and friends that come to visit!! love it!!!
After landing at Charlotte Douglas airport and picking up our car, we wanted to get something to eat. My wife went to Yelp to find a place on our route as we drove toward Winston-Salem. She found The Smoke Pit which was just a short drive off I-85 as we drove North. The place is located in what looks like it used to be an old convenience store or small grocery store. There is plenty of parking out front and they have some outdoor seating in the front. As soon as we walked in we smelled the delicious smoked meats. The order line is to the left but if you have a to-go order, you walk just to the right of that. We waited in line and looked at the menu on the wall to make our choices. My wife decided to try the blue chicken salad and I decided to try the pulled pork sandwich which comes with one side, I chose the baked mac and cheese. The side special of the day was Texas style green beans and we decided we needed to try those as well and agreed we would share them. They gave us a table number and we were told we could have a seat. A short while later our food was brought out to us. Everything looked amazing. The serving sizes were also great for the price. My wife was really impressed with the salad. The pulled pork was delicious. I tried a couple of their sauces and could not decide which I liked better. The Texas style green beans were also amazing. We would love to get our hands on their recipe - they were incredible. We only wished we had more! The baked mac and cheese was just okay and I felt it lacked significant flavor. The service provided was amazing. We even left a tip on the table for the person that took care of us in addition to the tip we left when we ordered. She was very friendly and efficient. Overall, this was a really good stop and the steady stream of people in and out of the place as we were there is a testament to the good BBQ and service. We highly recommend you stop here when in the area.
I 100% loved this place! I wish I could be critical of one thing but I just can't. The amount of food they give you is way more than expected. The food itself was amazing! The staff is great and the restaurant is clean. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a barbecue restaurant in the area or even outside of the area. If you have to make a drive for good food, this is definitely worth the trip.
The Smoke Pit will be our new place to take the whole family to. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The ages of the family range from 5-79 and everyone found a menu choice they like. You have to keep in mind this is a restaurant that smokes it’s meats and the atmosphere is that of a typical smoke house. Nothing fancy. With food like this who needs atmosphere.
Wow! Huge serving size, great smoked meats, I am picky when it comes to Q..this place is now top of the list. The pork, brisket and sausage were excellent. As were the fries and the variety of sauces.. I would give 6 stars if I could...we will be back here every soccer tournament at Liske. Thank you Smoke Pit!!!!
Amazing BBQ and sides. You order at the register and pray for a table. The food was served quick and the waiters were super friendly and helpful. 10/10 would go back, and soon.
