I always enjoy my food here but what impressed me about my last visit was the general manager. In the short time I was there, I saw him on the floor bussing tables and helping an older customer that didn't bring her walker. That's what awesome leadership looks like. Good managers means a good place to do business.
I think I love to shop as much as I love to Eat at Cracker Barrels! This one was nice & clean. The food was great as always, Mom (*who is expert) said they had the best Gravy of any we've eaten at! That's a huge compliment!
I know these days finding good help is hard but when you go to another Cracker Barrel cross town And the food was amazing. Then week later go to your local Cracker Barrel order The same dish only to find out Everything on the plate was herocious. Either inexperienced line cooks or cook that doesn't care. Corn wasn't cooked potatoes weren't cooked steam broccoli hard meatloaf overcooked. You're only as strong as a weak link and when you don't have a strong cook or strong line it definitely shows. I hope this message helps the cook and line staff To work harder on putting out better quality food.
Any vegetarians out there who still enjoy an occasional egg breakfast steer clear of all Cracker Barrel restaurants. They refuse to substitute any and all meat products. They don't even adjust the price. Nor do they have any breakfast meals that do not include meat. Management informed us that it is due to their software system. It simply does not provide them those options. I would think a huge chain would be able to have control over the software system that they have spent thousands of dollars on.I think it is a poor excuse. I doubt I'll eat at this chain again. Why couldn't I order a Create Your Own meal? It's just sad because they make great food and have warm & friendly servers and fun shopping. Panera it is!
We walked around the store for a few minutes then were told there was a 30-45 minute wait to be seated. Ok can deal with that it was a holiday. But then we were informed there was only ONE chef/cook on duty so there would be a wait after being seated. Love Cracker Barrel and appreciate being told upfront but was very disappointed we could not eat there.
Great home cooked food and excellent service.
The host asked us how many, looked around, came back, picked up 3 menus, turned and walked back into the dining room without saying a word to us. We just stood there unsure if he wanted us to follow or not. He got past the fireplace, turned and saw us still standing at the stand, waved for us to come in, and quickly walked on. We saw him lay the menus on a table by the windows and leave. Never spoke a word to us other than, "How many?" Never asked us how our day was, if the table was okay or tell us the server would be there shortly. Absolutely no personality. He's definitely in the wrong job and/or needs training before being put in that position. (No stars were on his apron.)Also, one person in our group was using a walker, so it would have been courteous for him to slow down or at least wait at the table for us.On the other side, our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. She was great! And our food was great too!
The price for the food and quality of the food is always great.The wait for the food, fellow guests being rude, and inconsistent waits for service and food are off-putting, but it's Cracker Barrel -- no more, no less.Pro Tip: In order to easily get to this restaurant from Copperfield Road/Copperfield area of Concord, turn left at the new intersection built at Copperfield Blvd NE and Vinehaven Dr.It's a newly constructed road so it may look like you're driving to nowhere next to the interstate and it may not be on your GPS yet, but that road wraps around to the rear entrance of Cracker Barrel and Hampton Inn area. Save you the hassle of making a U turn somewhere you don't have to.
Had Meatloaf Lunch with mash taters @ cooked apples...very tasty..
Cracker Barrel is always good no matter what location you visit. I tried the Bacon, egg & hash brown casserole scramble. It was delicious!
