I go often, never a bad experience. Staff are very polite and welcoming, food is delicious (especially the sushi). This certain day, I ordered a magic roll and some teriyaki veggies. I didn’t get a photo of the roll because I immediately ate the sushi ?. But these are the veggies. Presentation is also amazing!
Restaurant looks nice and server was very nice. The food not so much. Sushi rice was too watery/sticky but fishes were fresh. Chicken katsu with curry- first curry was cold but bowel hot. So they got me reheated for me but curry was watery and taste too weak for Japanese curry. (Spicy scallop hand roll came out looking like roll weird)
Charlie was amazing. The food not so much. The ginger salad dressing was so overwhelming with ginger. Like a lot. The spicy tuna roll was not really spicy. The cucumber roll was good. The kalbi was very very sweet like teriyaki sauce ( I’ve had this many times at other places) the shrimp tempura with veggies was great. Sauce was basically water. Like no flavor at all but was told that how it’s made. Miso soup was cold/ warm. Lychee martini was great. Strawberry Mochi was great.
We came here for lunch on a Friday and it was decently busy.They have a patio, but unfortunately, they only put a few tables out there even though it's mostly empty and there is plenty of space for more. This seems like an odd choice when there is nice weather and there's a pandemic that makes eating outside safer. We ate inside since the few tables outside were full when we got there.Three of us split:- Snow Roll- Lobster Roll- Totoro Roll- Naughty Akami RollI really enjoyed the Lobster Roll and Totoro Roll. The Naughty Akami Roll was pretty good too. The Snow Roll was pretty boring to me. The fish was fresh though.The sushi rolls were pretty small. If you're looking for a light lunch this would work, but we were all hungry after we left.
Good location with nice interiors and clean service. Waiter/server was little tacit but prompt. Ordered Bento box c but they don’t allow changes or additions or replacement. That was little bummer and food tasted Okay and could have been better for the price.
I was pleasantly surprised! Sushi-sashimi was excellent, service was good, pleasant ambiance.
IMO the best Japanese restaurant in Charlotte. The sashimi and sushi are very fresh and we love the tastings of different types of tuna (toro) etc. they have a great sake menu and can advise on pairings. The rolls are excellent and we are stuffed when we leave. You are going to spend some serious money, but so worth it!
The rating may be too harsh but this is my honest opinion, the food was not good. It almost tasted like something I’d make at home and fyi, I’m a terrible cook.. I was really disappointed because I had high expectations. Even the drinks tasted cheap. I was later informed that the sushi here is really good so maybe I made the wrong choice by selecting a plate.
The experience meets the reviews. Service was excellent and food equally exceptional. Worth the visit.
Had a wonderful experience here. Great food and service! We had quite a few things off of the menu: calamari, pork dumplings, and several of the sushi rolls. BUT we came for the sea urchin and salmon belly that we hadn’t tried before. We were NOT disappointed!! Our server was awesome, he went through everything and even gave us some off the menu options. Definitely coming back here.
