The sushi are good but has better one somewhere else. The veggie tofu teriyaki is delicious, recommended for the vegetarian ?

The food was amazing. Very fresh sushi! This place is highly recommended and we will be back.

Horrible experience. Unacceptable portion for $30 DINNER entrée (tv dinner size) with small shrimp and tiny pieces of steak not cooked to temp that was requested. Awful tasting cocktail possibly spoiled lychee garnish. Ginger juice in fried sushi roll container made it soggy and gross. Took at least 10 min to have order taken. Manager is rude and unhelpful. Spend your money elsewhere better hibachi at Pisces.

Normally this is a good selection for dinner but tonight's carry-out is just bleh. The soup is warm water with no flavor (tepid, clear and flavorless). The shrimp sauce is less than 1/2 teaspoon and watery. It was a quick order; so quick it seems the flavor was forgotten.

Probably some of the best sushi I've had in CLT. We went to Yama due to every other restaurant having 45-65 min wait times and my family was super hungry. We were seated immediately. When you walk in the place looks a little cluttered with alot of boxes and wine stuff stacked to the right of the front door. But when we were seated the seating area was very open and clean. My wife and I ordered a love boat which had some shrimp tempura, salmon rolls, sashimi, tuna rolls and a couple of white fish rolls. All were perfectly prepared and the fish tasted extremely fresh. My son ordered steak hibachi which was probably enough for two people. Again, the food was really well prepared. We will definitely be back!

Only giving 1 star because I have sympathy for the restaurant being obviously understaffed. Our waitress kept forgetting to bring us drinks and didn't check on us nearly enough. My friend ordered a medium rare steak that came out well done, and the rest of our meals were ~kinda~ warm when they came out, maybe a little warmer than room temperature. The texture of the chicken was weird, but maybe that's just because the temperature was off. We called the manager over and told him about the temperature of the food and the overcooked steak. He asked if we wanted him to cook another steak and we told him we did not want to wait another 30 mins for a steak but wanted to let him know his kitchen was sending out incorrectly prepared food. All he offered us after that was an apology. When the waitress came back over, we informed her of the situation. She told us to hold on and she would go see what they could do about it. The manager came back over with a horrible attitude and said "I'm just trying to figure out what you want me to do about it" .................well for starters sir you can lose your attitude. He offered us a free dessert. Never once offered to comp or discount any of the food. It was clear the restaurant was understaffed since he was a manager but he was waiting tables. No excuse for poor customer service. The waitress told us the owner was in the building and we said we wanted to talk to him. She said she would go get him. She came back and said they could give us multiple free desserts........ apparently the owner did not want to deal with customers that were upset with his business. We got our checks and went to pay, there were 4 tabs. 2 cards were charged correctly, 1 card was never charged, and the other card was charged for 2 tabs, totaling almost $300. For a place that includes a 20% gratuity on their tab, they do not provide 20% gratuity worth of service. Not for a place that charges so much for food that doesn't even come out warm or correctly cooked. This was my first time going to this restaurant and it's safe to say I will never be returning. Complete waste of money and time. Everywhere in Charlotte is understaffed but that's no excuse for poor service. It takes more effort to have an attitude and deal with irate customers than it does to be understanding and provide half decent service.

Ate lunch there once and it was pretty good. Have tried three times to get in for dinner but no luck. Always a 20-30 minute wait. Lots of empty seats which may mean they havent enough staff. We went next door where there was no wait. Oh, well...may try again some time.

Decided to go there on 10/16/2021 after a coworker's recommendation and will definitely not go back. The wait staff is clueless...to our waitress - appetizers precede the main meal and the hibachi meals include a salad, learn what's on the menu. To the "young" manager, your "generous" $10 gift certificate will not buy loyalty and your indifferent attitude will not bode well for your chosen profession.By the way, your sushi is average at best.Thank you,Scott
