Lawd Jaysus FRIED MOCHI. I’ll get to that in a minute. Fried FREAKIN’ mochi. ok, I’ll stop. The Good: if you’re still with me, I need you to know that the fried Mochi here is possibly one of the best things to grace this good earth. I dream about it. I yearn for it. You complete me? Yes. Yes, you do. So crispy on the outside, so perfectly chewy on the inside. A filling expertly balanced with sweet and salty. This isn’t good because I don’t live far from OH. I also have a soy sensitivity and I’m sure it’s laden with it. Why is this life so cruel? Anyway, their Papaya Salad was really good, too. We also got the Okonomiyaki, which I had never heard of until now. I think my mom mistakenly ordered it with EVERYTHING on it (egg, bacon, pork candy, and something else) because it was so much and so heavy for me. I don’t digest large amounts of animal fats well and this was too much. I also wasn’t a fan of the flavor combos of the bacon and the bits that were fishy. That’s on us though - not on the restaurant. I loved the cabbage and sauces so next time, I’ll order the vegan version. You Keto folks should love the version we got, though. I don’t really get the reviews saying the portion was small as we were stuffed after splitting this Okonomiyaki. The Meh: not getting the vegan version of the Okonomiyaki but, like I said, that’s my fault. The Bad: the emptiness in my soul from not having FREAKIN FRIED MOCHI right meowXiao Bao, I will be coming back for you.

Almost ever time we go to Optimist Hall, at least one person in our party gets the $10 KFC Sando, plus $7.50 fried brussel sprouts. They are both so good! The Korean Fries Chicken is big and juice, and there are bits of Chinese eggplant with the brussel sprouts in the garlic sauce. Yum!

Don’t overlook this place, it’s incredible! The shrimp fried rice is by far the best fried rice I’ve ever had! The papaya salad is spicy and delicious. The menu may be small but that’s because they put everything, heart, soul, love and thought into each of the dishes they make. Highly suggest this place!!

been really looking forward to going here for a while but honestly was a bit let down. i got the KFC Sando but definitely feel like it would be better just to get a bao bun (due to the similar taste) from somewhere else. Maybe I need to try more of the menu?

The pad kra pow is a delicious sweet and spicy rice bowl served with an egg on top!! This was one of two gluten free options available at Caio Bao, and it’s one of my favorites at Optimist Hall

My First time.. we had the shrimp fried Rice .. and omg The SALT level so too much .. I Ask why was it so salty. And someone told it its the fish season.. so if u know that the fish season is salty why use so much.. $14and we had two ..

I tried the special of the day which was chicken fried rice. Very unique spin on it.

Always up for a new experience and I’m glad I gave this one a shot! Andrea at the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable! I ended up going with the Shrimp Fried Rice with their homemade sauce and it was Devine! Coming back for the Mochi and Andrea’s winner personality!!

This place is really good! I ordered the Okonomiyaki and wasn’t sure how I would like it but I ordered it with everything on top and it was delicious! Will be coming back.

Comfort food for sure. The rice balls are crave-able and came hot and fresh. I can’t wait to try allof their food!
