Awesome food Awesome staff! Please try the chicken and waffles taco ? ?

Overall, the dining space is fantastic! I love the rustic indoor market feel, as well as the view of the Charlotte skyline. We went at 6pm on a Saturday. All of the indoor tables were taken, but we found plenty of outdoor seating. Most of it wasn’t in the cool shade, but we moved a table into the shade. As to the restaurant, the food had a really fresh taste. I had the burger version of the taco and I’ll definitely try to re-make it at home with fresh tortillas. I highly recommend it!So why 4 stars? I asked how long the food would take and at 6:10 they said 10 minutes. Then, at 6:28, I received a text that said my food was ready. I went inside and discovered that my food still had 6 minutes left and someone had accidentally triggered the text.I didn’t want to go back to my friend at the table outside, because I now had no way of learning when my food was done. They have a very informal method of serving food where they leave it at the counter for anyone who thinks it is theirs to grab. I figured if I left, someone else could take the food (accidentally or not) and I had already waited long enough.Price comparison: A single taco was $5-$6, so I had to get two to decently tide myself over. A good meal for me would have been 4 tacos or $20-$24.So how could they get 5 stars in my mind?1. They could find a more secure method of serving food (I.e. the customer needs to show a receipt).2. They could have a system where people don’t get texts awhile before the food is done (if this is only once every 20 customers, they should get a ton of 5 stars and that average would offset my rating and bring it up to 4.95 or so—unless they have other problems).3. They could give accurate projections of how long food takes. I understand that burgers take awhile to cook. However, the server should have told me 25 minutes.Overall, it was a good experience and I would go again.

Overall really good for fusion tacos. The elote was good, but unexpected and unique with a bbq flavor, which I liked! Biggest downfall was customer service from the cashier. And it’s optimist hall….no one is asking for much. Just some acknowledgement and eye contact before, after, OR during the ordering process would’ve been nice. The whole experience was very off putting, especially when you’re paying $6 for one taco.

I really enjoy this places tacos but recently the service is so slow. Recently ordered 4 tacos, 2 of which were salmon tacos. We couldn’t even pick the salmon ones up on the container because they sat so long and got soggy and fell apart. This is after waiting 30+ min for them. Really disappointing that I won’t be able to enjoy the tacos here anymore because the operational side of things isn’t running well.

Every time I am at Optimist Hall, the one thing that I am always clear about is that I am going to order from Velvet Tacos, hands down. I am the kind of person who will never eat vegetarian if I dine outside. However, their fried paneer and beer-battered cauliflower tacos are fantastic. They also have an option to make it a lettuce taco, so it's like a little healthier version ;) 100% recommend this place!!!

Had the buffalo chicken and fish and chips tacos. They were good! Food was ready in a reasonable amount of time despite being busy. Would go again.

I happened to be in Charlotte and a friend of mine recommended Optimist Hall. We found this taco spot and I have never had a Chicken Tikka Taco but it was the best taco ever!!!!! ***Spicy and full of flavor! It even had basmati rice.... I wish they had this spot home here in NYC!! Sooo good. MUST TRY!!!! ?????

Always a great place to get great tacos. I fell in love with the fish and chips. The flavor of the curry makes the fish do a little dance in your mouth.

I got the brisket taco which taste great...full taco with big flavor. The price was pretty steep though, $5.50 for one regular size taco is too much (lost 2 stars for that). I appreciate the staff being knowledgeable and they kept it real with me.

So good I went 2 days in a row on a 3 day trip to Charlotte. Honestly the best fusion tacos I’ve ever had. Usually places like this are great for instagram pics but nothing else. However, these tacos were incredible. Had the Nashville hot chicken and waffle special of the day and the tiki on the first day. Then had the reg chicken and waffle, the brisket and the Korean taco.. out of all the incredible tacos the Nashville and the brisket were my favorite. You honestly can’t go wrk g with any of them.
