Food here is nasty I got wings they were not fresh Macaroni and cheese is Bland ordered two different kind of wings they were put In the same box right next to each other definitely will not eat from here again don't waste your time or money
I really enjoyed the sides (greens, rice & peas) but chicken was just ok. Maybe it was fried too hard
The restaurant needs a major renovation. Before you walk inside there was a loose ac house hanging off the door clogged with mold and dead or alive flying insects. The food wasn't edible, the chicken wings tasted old and tough, the curry chicken was dry and had no curry flavor also tasted old. The rice and peas also was not authentic, it tasted like Mexican rice, the mac n cheese was horrible. The only thing i ate out of $70 worth of food was the plantains and the beef patties. I will never waste my money on this place again and I wouldn't recommend that anyone else does.
It was excellent the chef did very well. The host kept us informed about our food. Food was hot and well cooked. I'm please with the spot.
I would love to give this place a higher review but sadly 2 stars is what it’s worth to me. I called my order in and decided to go with the 5 wing lunch special which comes with rice & salad. My initial request was to add extra rice instead of salad and was advised that it would be an up charge so I stuck with the salad (glad that I did!)…. Upon arriving I was greeted with a dry “Hello” and the vibe that I got was more like I was a bother vs a paying customer. Nevertheless I paid and attempted to make small talk as I waited for my salad to be prepared, the cashier was completely uninterested. After a few minutes of waiting my salad was up. After arriving back to work I was so sad to take a bite of a hard patch of rice. I figured that maybe it was just that one clump but I was wrong… it seems like maybe he was down to the bottom of the pot and decided to make what was left work. My wings was no better. The flavor was AMAZING but my chicken was so hard that it wasn’t edible out of a 5 piece order 2 was good. Such a disappointment! The wings is the reason why I went. … & remember the salad that I said I was glad I got instead? I had to remove brown pieces throughout the salad AND my ranch was super warm ((I don’t know about you but the quickest way to ruin a salad is adding hot dressing to it)). Giving one start because it was ready within the timeframe that I was given & because the flavor was amazing I just wish I could’ve actually enjoyed my meal. I feel like half of the plate was inedible.
Soooooo,Yeahhhhh....Nope. Ordered oxtail with fried okra & Mac & cheese. As well as Plantains & greens. The oxtail tail was super tough to eat but had a decent flavor or spice to it.The Mac & cheese was really good.My okra was fried in a big clump but was good.My plantains were BURNT??& they legit still sent it to me!Needless to say,not the best experience.
Ordered 80 wings for my New Years party, had to throw 40 of them away because they were burnt! They Tasted like rubber!! Looked like he put them in a air fryer!! this was my first and last time coming here!!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place!!!????????
Ordered thru doordash and the order was incorrect. I got a veggie plate and the sides were wrong. I also ordered a house salad with no cheese or onion and it came with both. The onions were chopped small and mixed in so I couldnt even pick them out or the cheese. It also didnt even come with any dressing at all….lol. They used to be good about 6 years ago. Idk what happened.
Toughest oxtail I have ever had. It’s actually the only tough oxtail I’ve had. Potatoes undercooked,rice is hard. Very disappointed. A waste of $20.
Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd location must make their own hours and after a year still doesnt show on google. 2pm and the door is locked with employees staring out the door. Only sign on the door was about lunch specials from noon to 3. Well how, if you're doors are locked during this time?
